So, just to confirm.... if I record the films to watch later on will I get charged by SKY or not?
Cheers!0 -
You will not be charged (they are not available on a pay per view basis) - but I doubt whether the films will be viewable after the weekend
I may stand to be corrected though !!0 -
I have a sky box but we don't pay for it anymore. we just watch the free channels so would this apply to us?0

I wonder if you can record some on sky plus to watch at a later date?
I dont think you could do that. As when I had sky movies i recorded stuff then i canceled my movies and wouldn't even let me watch the recorded ones quoting "pls call 08******* to subscribe to sky movies"
sorry man0 -
For those of us with sky+: Does anybody know if we would be able to record these films to enjoy at a later stage or would this just work on the day/weekend itself?
I doubt it, but worth a shot.0 -

No - not unless you are able to download them and remove the encrypted code on them ?
The idea of copying to DVD won't work either - they think of everything these devlish sky people !!0 -
Absolutely! And if you do, Ihope you don't because they repeat the same movies over and over and over ..., remember tha if you ever decide to cancel any packs they Sky need a month notice. This is as well valid whan they send you email to try a month of sky world for free ... you still need to pay a month subsription whan you cancel.:Ait is strange aint it, i would suppose that they are doing this to try and entice non subscribers to actually subscribe to the movie channels, you would think they would throw in a couple of blockbusters to show people what they would be getting, seeing that list of films certainly would not make me subscribe if i already didn`t0

Surly this cant be correct? When you join Sky you purchase the Sky box. If there is a fault with the box and it is out of warranty, you have to purchase a replacment.
If they can disable feature on the box, then it must belong to them, otherwise its akin to purchasing a new car from BWM and refusing to get it serviced by them. For this they respond by disabling the engine...
unfortunately it is true before 2007 anyone who had a sky plus box who did have a subcription with sky had to pay £9.99. After 2007 they axed this and those who did have a sky plus box but no subscription have to pay a £9.99 fee instead. It's unfiar but thats sky for you, trying to make money from people. You may also notice (if you have sky) that when you go on sky website and view your bill, if you have sky plus it will show your montly subscription charge plus a £0 charge for sky plus.
Bascially you are buying the box but u do agree when u sign up that if u cancel u can't use the recording features, unless u pay sky a monthly fee to use them without a tv subscription.0 -
