rach246 the spynet video watch comes from a company called jakks pacific who have just started their own UK distribution (same company that make real construction set) as of yet only a few retailers have had early stock. Expect to see the watch everywhere by end of month :-)

Thank you very much, will wait until then :j

stolt it's based on the amount of hits and sales we pass on through our price comparison table and customer feedback. We are averaging around 535000 hits a day at the moment and cover over 200 of the top toys for christmas based on TV advertising and catalogue placement, so it gives a good barometer of where the market heads, of course this isn't an exact science :-)

I see the 2010 Toy Retailers Association Dream Toys press release will be available from 7am October 27th 2010 so may be you could give us all an update then so we can see what we should have bought rather than what we have :rotfl:

thanks, just interested really, i'm sure theres there are a few out there making money on predicting what will be the biggest toy for crimbo, i 'm seem to remember the dreaded go go hamster not been predicted as the no 1 toy, but a supposed shortage created the panic buying...

I went into Newcastle Fenwicks today - No Lotso Huggin Bear, No Chatimals, No Monster High Dolls, No Bullseye, No Toffee the Pony.... They did have the Paper Jamz drums, guitars and amps though. Got told they might be getting some Lotsos and Bullseyes but they don't know when and if so, how many as they said they are so much in demand and difficult to get stock.Forgot to ask about Toffee. Chatimals hadn't been on their radar till they realised they were going to be a hit so they have placed an order with their supplier but don't know if they'll be able to get them, when, or how many. As for Monster Dolls, HILARIOUS, they'd never even heard of them and said no one had asked for them! As for Lalaloopsy - which is what I had gone in to actually find - I forgot to look due to trying to remember all the info about the other things I'd asked about for fellow MSErs!!!

  • TBH in my opinion the Dream Toy list isn't always the best, it's normally quite political (for those that know the toy industry). Yeah the gogo hamster really came out of left field, no one thought it would take off like it did and it caught everyone cold, at the same time everybody thought this years kung zhu would take off, but so far it's a long way behind the girls zhu zhu hamsters.

Monster Dolls hasn't really been released to the big retailers yet which is why you are seeing alot of ebay/amazon marketplace sellers with them all, but this will grow and 2011 it will really take off. Mattel are putting alot behind this as well as a big hollywood movie being made next year.

LOL don't mention hamsters - for those of us on the MSE hamster hunt last year we had to put our lives on hold for months - even the name go go or zhu zhu makes me feel ill :rotfl:
