Well popped down to Smythstoys today to collect a Chatimal, and although it says in stock - it ain't. Flying off the shelves I believe.

None in my local Argos. Tesco or Toysrus either. Any ideas?

Chatimals are £16.99 with free delivery on Play. I bought one this morning. They are not awaiting stock either as i checked with someone and they have them in stock!

Lambs toys www.lambstoys.co.uk have the chatimals in stock, they have Sophie, Max and Oscar and when you order it lets you pick which one you want 14.99

I originally bought mine from Play before realising I could get one in my local toy shop Although Play.com had them shown as 'in stock' it took about 2 weeks to arrive which caused me to panic when I remember the go go hamster situation last year, when you could place an order for stuff which took forever to arrive

Did you take advantage of the on the shelf promise then?

For anyone reading this, you can check stock at your local Smyths online and if it says something is in stock, you can print out an on the shelf promise and if it isn't, they give you a £7 voucher - not bad me thinks.

got to be careful with symths, they dont do this on every toy ive noticed, they dont offer it on the stinky the garbage truck, chatimals and bullseye and lotso, anything popular.:rotfl: Although in my local store they are offering it on the monster high dolls.

Hi Guys and Gals, this is my first post as you can see and I run a toy info/price comparison site and just thought I would let you know what parents/customers are looking for and buying now. I have been in the toy business for 10 years and the online toy business for 6 years and so we have our finger firmly on the pulse.
The build up to Christmas is always a manic time and for parents it can be a nightmare trying to find that must-have toy in December. Anyway this is the list of the top 10 most-wanted/bought over the last 3 weeks hope it helps for you to plan ahead:
    1. Toy Story 3 Lotso Bear
    2. Real Construction Deluxe Workshop
    3. Matchbox Stinky the Garage Truck (SUPER HOT)
    4. Monster High Dolls (Majority of online retailers won't get stock until the end of the month)
    5. Vtech Mobigo
    6. Vtech Storio
    7. spynet video watch
    8. toffee the pony
    9. chatimals
    10. lego hogwarts castle

hi is this information based on the purchases from your online business?

    thanks

  • stolt it's based on the amount of hits and sales we pass on through our price comparison table and customer feedback. We are averaging around 535000 hits a day at the moment and cover over 200 of the top toys for christmas based on TV advertising and catalogue placement, so it gives a good barometer of where the market heads, of course this isn't an exact science :-)

Phew just ordered Lotso from The brilliant gift shop, using the 20 % code. Thought I had nearly finished Christmas shopping after buying lots of presents from Argos on 3 for 2. My DD was off school poorly today and whilst I was at work decided to write her Christmas list. After looking through it I realised I have only got 2 things on her list, so going to have to do some work in convincing her she really wants some of the things I have bought instead. That will teach me for being organised!!!:rotfl: (no she really doesn't want a £150 fur real dog, or the £50 spy watch that's out of stock everywhere!)

Thanks for that I didn't know that. I have over £100 in points hooray off to boots to shop x x x can i get it delivered to the store too for free del cost? My local boots in llanishen is small so that will be easier:T

rach246 the spynet video watch comes from a company called jakks pacific who have just started their own UK distribution (same company that make real construction set) as of yet only a few retailers have had early stock. Expect to see the watch everywhere by end of month :-)
