Thank God my Natwest account is not in Scotland :-)0

Will the three English RBS branches not transferring to Santander remain at the current customer service centres ?
If so , these two customer service centres will only service two RBS branches at one and one RBS branch at the other - all the other accounts will be NatWest at these service centres
The Menai service centre address now appears on RBS envelopes and Almondsbury on Nat West
Menai does not appear to cover any RBS branches at the moment in any eventHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I've been with RBS for about 12 years, ever since they offered the best deal and had the nicest rep at the Freshers fair at the University where I opened my account.
I'm not sure what I'll do -- I just know that there is NO WAY I am going to Santander. I know that this is down to the EU, but I just wish they would offer customers a CHOICE. Even something like automatically move to Santander, but jump through a few hoops and go to NatWest instead. Anything other than having this forced on us.
I have just rung the helpline number and asked about the possibility of moving to a Scottish Branch (my current branch is in Leeds and I'm in Staffordshire, so the long-distance relationship has never been a problem). Interestingly, when I first asked if there was anything I could do to stay with RBS, I was flatly told no. I had to mention the possibility of moving to a Scottish branch before she said she would take some details and get someone to ring me back about it.
I quite like the idea of moving bank accounts completely; my sister has always recommended the Co-op and I like their slightly-more ethical policy. However, I am terrified that a) the transfer would go wrong and the mortgage wouldn't get paid or I'd forget to tell someone my account was changing and they'd be hunting me down years later b) negativity affecting my credit rating with a new bank account.
I suppose the first thing to do is to try to stop myself becoming Santander. I suppose I have six months to decide what to do, right?0 -

If you want to move your account to a Scottish Branch, it would have been much easier if you had completed a transfer request form several months ago when the news of the sale was first released, but you should still ask for the form sooner rather than later. (Although your account details will probably have already been moved to the new computer system that will eventually belong to Santander)0 -
I called last week and the transfer form came through and was sent back so it's still possible.
They just give you some waffle on the bone about how they can't make your mind up for you and send the form.
Was Leeds now Aberdeen LOL
Anything than become a Santander Droid."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -
My account will held with Santander when hell freezes over !! Everybody I know who has had any dealings with them, either with bank accounts or credit cards has had all types of aggro.
Trying to decide whether to get my account moved to a Scottish branch - which I'm quite in favour of, altho' it years since i was last north of the border - or go and have a chat to my local NatWest. Ha, moved FROM Natwest because of shoddy service about 20 years ago...I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0 -
It will be worth moving your account to an RBS Scottish branch. Even if you take a few days off work to do it.
Make an appointment with a Scottish Branch.
Open the new account which should take about an hour.
Move your DD's etc yourself or let the new branch do it.
Finally close your account in England.
I did the same over ayear ago, no problems.
Currently investigating who to move my LLoyds accounts to as I hear the COOP online system is atrocious.0
