Just open a new account online, choosing a Scottish Branch when prompted to select a branch. If you're registered for online banking, login first and all your details will be filled in automatically.

Why would any business want to get rid of customers?

Some people might not be able to run the acconts in a good manner. Or maybe they cause a bit of fuss, making compalints or something. Or there could be unusual behaviour on their accounts, business or otherwise.

To put in comparion of HSBC retail banking on makes a total of 10% of the groups profit. So not very much profit comes from day to day banking cheques etc. Compare this to 5% on their private banking, not everyone is wealthly. Obviously they are not making the money on retail banking.
  • Are they trying to form some kind of 'one-bank' system for Europe I wonder?

''I work for RBS and the transfer to Santander ordered by the European Commission is meant to be painful and serve as punishment for needing to be bailed out. We are losing good staff and customers, many loyal that have been with us a considerable time. Nobody at RBS and NatWest agrees with this, but there is nothing we can do - the EU calls the shots. As regards the money from the taxpayers, this will be repaid with a massive bonus, something that receives very little mention by the press.''

''In the US Citifinancial Auto was sold to Santander. Customer service is terrible! We can't get through to a person, and if we do they don't have our account numbers. There are may complaints online-run away from this company!''

No, it doesn't affect One Account, Drummonds or Holt's Military Banking.

Holts are included in the transfer to Santander according to the RBS website - sort code is 16-19-26 :)

I have had a look at the website informing us on which brancs are being dumped. 16-19-26 is included in the sale.

I dont know any personal / corporate changes to this though.

I work for RBS and the communication we've had specifically references both Holt's and Drummonds as being excluded from divestment.
  • Hi,

I previously banked with RBS, current account and loan. I came ito financial difficulty and now am on a DMP. My current account was not in dispute but due to lowering my loans repayments they closed my account.

My account and loan was passed the their inhouse collections Triton.

Are Santander taking on these accounts as well and will we receive letters, i am loathe to ring Triton as they cannot be the most helpful of peeps.

    Thanks
