so i assume you sold your phone then?0 -
I cannot agree with that - I think you are confusing what you feel are the chances of the fears being realised with the reality of the fear. For example 10 years ago, someone fearing that terrorists would fly planes into the WTC killing thousands would most likely have been laughed at because the fear was far fetched... does that mean the fear was not real or worthy of consideration?redux wrote:It doesn't. People are making these fears up.Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!0 -
What on earth has irrelevant crap about terrorism got to do with fabrication of untrue remarks about changes in terms and conditions?jnm21 wrote:I cannot agree with that - I think you are confusing what you feel are the chances of the fears being realised with the reality of the fear. Some countries have passed laws requiring registration of SIMs after certain discoveries in the past, but that was only about their whereabouts
O2 do not randomly record conversations and sell marketing or other information derived from them to anybody. This would be a lie if anyone said it, and my reply was to someone who was rhetorically asking people to explain any derivation of this suggestion from the T&C - and nobody has done so.
Please let's deal in facts, not paranoid or alarmist invention, but I suggest you get rid of all your phones if you are that worried0 -
I would still be interested in knowing if this October change of T&C's, under ths "disadvantage" clause means we can cancel the contract penalty free.
My main concern being by stopping us from selling or doing what the hell we like with the phones they give us at the start of a unaltered T&C/Contract means the phone is of less value outside of any contractual period, therefore is a disadvantage imho.
Yet O2 say I cannot cancel penalty-free despite this new change... anyone? anywhere? Legal minded to browse through the O2 Contract T&C's here:

In my case, I can't see the point of cancelling due to a potential misunderstanding about rights over resale of a phone worth under £20, and the privacy issue has been wildly distorted, as seen above. And if cancelling any cashback contract, the terms of that would also be affectedSenorGroucho wrote:I guess that was just me then that got offered the chance to cancel.0 -
I was offered the chance to cancel but instead took a (goodwill) reduction in line rental which suited me well. I have to say that O2s customer service were very good..I think if they had been at all arsey about it I would have cancelled the contract instead.Join the Sarcasm Appreciation Society.
