    Heyup folks!

Made some nice roast potatoes and Quorn escalopes with peas for tea, all from the pantry/freezer so another NSD for me = 2 so far.

Hi everyone, I'm having a bit of a dilemma over whether to make an approved foods order or not!

I don't want to spend loads stocking up this month again, but some things I bought last time and loved are back in stock again and too good to miss out on... A 99p order of dough balls makes 10 pizza bases and herbs, and the 89p 3kg bread mix speaks for itself! Of course, I then want to make the order worth the £5.25 delivery so I may potentially spend £8.49+p&p on dough mixes, risotto, tinned peas, mustard, sauce and soup.

I'd be left with ~£20 for fruit, veg and a £3 box of chicken for the rest of the month.
Do I?! Don't I?! I don't have much freezer space(one small draw!!) so dry is the way I have to stock up.

This is my dilemma too - it's the amount you need to spend to justify the P&P isn't it? I am also fighting with myself to stay away from Costco, I have a list with about £150 worth of food and drink on it which historically will last for a couple of months BUT I've always found that when I do a big shop and then top up shops I spend more over the month:mad: Can't work out why when sensibly it shouldn't make a difference :o
  • Was going to go for a nsd today, but after some of the comments on here I think I'd better pop to l!dl :-) Thanks to all for these :T

Got my 'big shop' for the month at Mr T tomorrow, but there's not a lot on my list, so I'm thinking the more I can get at l!dl at a cheaper cost the better. :D I'll still have to go for the big shop tho (which could be risky:rotfl:) as I need to get my dog food and cleaning stuff, but they're budgeted for separately :)

I just need to stay focused and not come out with a trolley full on both days :rotfl:. Wish me luck :D

£5.04 spent in Mr T for things for lunch this week. :)

I'm very bored of Mr S recently - I feel like I've tried practically all the food they have through shopping exclusively with them for about 1.5 years, so I am walking 5 minutes in the opposite direction (so only slightly less convenient), to go to Mr T instead...

£22.50 spent in sainsburys yesterday-got some bargains including half price gillette shave foam for OH (£1.58), reduced fruit cakes (20p each so got 3) and reduced speciality bread (45p). I'm going to make bolognese tonight and make some nice garlic bread with it. Also got a bag of apples so will make a crumble which we've not had in ages. Oh, and got 3 big bunches of bananas while they are still cheap. The ones in the fruit bowl have gone a bit too spotty now so they will go into smoothies, and the new ones will go in packed lunches.
  • NSD yesterday!

I gave DD leftover mash fried with some leftover tinned corn, half a tomato and some grated cheese, which she loved. DH and I used the leftover gammon from Sun, with a tomato sauce I made from a handful of toms from the garden, and a handful of baby mushrooms and a couple of french beans. The only things that I hadn't grown in it were the gammon, a tiny squirt of tomato puree and dash of balsamic vinegar, and the mushrooms. We had a loaf of garlic bread with that, and some fresh pasta.

I made breadcrumbs for the freezer last inght too, with the leftover nice bread from the weekend. (I'd used the last of the previous batch making crab cakes for Sunday lunch and stuffing for roast chick dinner on Sunday last weekend).

Tonight, I am using 2 burgers (whoopsies) from a while ago that i had in freezer, with some potato wedges (chopping up old spuds and using a packet of mix). I might actually throw a couple of chicken wings onto the tray too.
Tomorrow, I think will be spag bol (I have one bag left in freezer) or chicken/pork and rice and a Chinese sauce.
Thursday will probably be the other of those, although DH may make chilli tomorrow night to have Thurs. Can't have mkore spud dinners this week as I didn't get a new sack last weekend (will be going to F&V shop at weekend and they are loads cheaper there than supermarket).
