  • Hello,

Could I please be put down for £250 again this month?

Had a £88ish spend in Mr A on Saturday. £9 of this was a mop/bucket and £13 beer (OH insists on his Hiney!) and a £4 book for a prezzie.

This included lots of fruit and veg, plus pepsi max cans x 16, and a fair few freezer items, fresh chicken pieces for my first HM curry, plus my OH (being a bobby) needs his lunch things (he loves frubes, cheapie choc bars and meaty bits to keep his energy up, he's a big guy - tall, not wide!) :rotfl:

Although this does seem a ridiculous amount for two people! Not even a pet to make this amount seem to stretch further The shame :o

    Cheers!

I wouldn't feel too bad! I did work experience with the police and I can safely say that I have never seen men eat so much in my life. And I live with a farmer! One guy used to have two tins of sausages and beans on toast for breakfast in the station (and he wasn't fat either!)

2 NSDs in a row for me :D Happy days! It does make me smile to get back to my OSly ways. :) Tea last night was a big success after the rest of the weekend seeming a bit of a flop. DH decided on Saturday night that he didn't fancy the spaghetti bolognese I had planned, and settled on jambalaya instead. Great, fine, I had the stuff in, but I was wondering how I would use up the pork mince I was going to put in the bolognese...

Cue inspiration from the takeaway book I got recently. I made them into little Italian style meatballs, made a quick tomato sauce and served them as meatball subs. :) They went down very well indeed with a bit of grated cheese melted on top and put inside a part-baked baguette. Very Happy DH. Curry tonight, with a chicken breast and a load of veggies. I'm feeling a bit coldified so I don't feel like doing much cooking.

Had a walk around Mr M at lunchtime today but didn't buy anything and didn't see many offers I could make use of. Oh well.

Hope everyone has a great day.

    KB xx

    Hi All!

Thanks jintyb. It most certainly is...it feels like I've been paying it off a very, very long time...

£5.60 spent in Mr S today - updated siggy. I will need to get some stuff for work lunches tomorrow as well - I didn't have time today because of the flipping tube strikes!

On Sunday I went to the cinema using the 40% off Ode*n vouchers - saw ToyStory3 because it was the last day and I've meaning to see it for ages! It was 'okay', but where the cinema was there is a HUGE Mr T Extra! It sounds sad, but I was really excited - I didn't buy any food because of the cinema and then when I finished it was raining! :(

Next Sunday though I will be visiting it though because they had loads more offers, and loads of different types of food I just don't see in my Mr S. It's only one more stop on the Overground, so it's only 5 mins further. I AM Slightly concerned that I will be tempted by more things, but if they are better offers, it's better to get them cheap right? :rotfl:

My one saving grace I suppose is that everything I buy I have to carry home on the train, so there are limitations on how much I can buy. I dread to think what I would be like if I had a car!!!
I know I need to get out more when a supermarket shop is a highlight of my weekend!!

Tonight I'm having a new recipe - Pork with baby corn, peppers, spring onions, and some Thai 7 spice which I bought ages ago and haven't used yet. My aim is to get rid of the glut of herbs and spices in my cupboard from when I used to plan a meal then buy the ingredients, rather than checking my ingredients then planning a meal

  • This month is going very badly! Spent about another £15 yesterday & today on crisps, kitchen rolls, whoopsied raspberries, gammon & smoked haddock and apple juices for DS when he goes hypo at school. I know that I will need to get toilet rolls on Wednesday & DD has just told me that whilst she had & enjoyed rasperries at the weekend at her Gran's, that was with yogurt so could I please get her some otherwise she won't like the raspberries!

I think I will, without fail, go over my budget this month!

Right, got my reciepts together so far and this is what we spent:

£21.27 in Lid - mainly stocking up again on basics - tinned tomatoes, sugar, eggs, bread flour, Milk, cereal, cheese, butter, onions plus some other veg and a box of stock cubes.
£4.95 in Mr Ms - Buying what we couldn't get in Lid or is cheaper here- Muscovado sugar, sour cream, washing up liquid, long grain and basmati rice

    And then today:

£11.56 in Asdals - Lentils, More basmati rice (was on offer) and Chappati flour (£3 for 10kg!)

We have a griddle on our stove so the chappatis are quite simple to make and I am hoping it will enable us to eek out the rice.
