Managed to avoid the shops for 2 days now. :j
Made the fish pie as planned and while the oven was on I made a courgette cake which turned out lovely and you would never guess there's courgette in it!
Defrosting 2lb of minced beef ready to make the chilli tomorrow. It'll be made tomorrow evening but may not actually be eaten until later in the week and half will be frozen anyway. ( I think it tastes better when it's matured anyway)!
Good luck everyone.Mortgage Free in 3 part 2 challenge - pay off £9000

Hi All,
A forced NSD for me today, i was hoping to get some fruit, but when i went down to my car for work this morn some F*****s had broken in to it, nicked a load of stuff and left it undrivable, something to do with steering locks. . .
So a fair few grocery NSD's for me coming up! silver linings i guess, and i guess i cant feel too bad about eating choc if i have no fruit. Lol
xEach day is a new beginning, look at what you have an be grateful for every tiny thing. You don't know when it may be taken away.0 -
Had to go the shop on the way back tonight, had run out of bread (again!) and freezer bags. However I resisted the lure of the reduced section and bought only those, spending £2.03. Just as well I did too, as have just had to play freezer tetris in order to extract some pasta sauce for tomorrow's dinner and get the drawer back in again.0

Doing not too bad only £3.20 spent today £2.00 on rolls for ~OH's piece box for a couple of days and £1.20 on a cup of coffee as I bumped into my sister up the road - done really well as I hadnt had my lunch and would have normally spent about £3-£4 however had take HM quiche and lemon drizzle cake waiting on me. Pasta bake for tea tomorrow, and dads for lunch so shopuld have a spend free day!Every days a School day!0

Another NSD which makes number 4 :T but think I will need some fruit and veg tomorrow. Will try not to buy anything that is needed.
Made some roasted tomato and rice soup today using up some left over rice and the last of the tomatoes out of mums greenhouse. The recipie I used actually had puy lentils in but seen as we cant stand them we substituted for rice and it was really good.
hope everyone is ok. Stay focused.MARCH £62.38/2500 -
Oh seductivesmile Sorry to hear your news :grouphug:
Disastrous start to the month...... £72.04 spent so far on sod all quite frankly.....and I haven't even done a big shop yet.
So that's just over ¼ of my budget gone in 4 days  well, 3 actually, as yesterday was an NSD.
I don't know what has happened, but it needs to stop now!
I haven't done my big shop this week, and I think that might be what has thrown me (it doesn't take much) I thought I'd try and stretch things out a bit, but I'm not even doing that! In fact, I've spent more than I would have if I had done a proper shop! So that has backfired BIGtime!
I blame hormones :rotfl: they're usually the culprit!

Hi,
went toLidl 2night when went to pick upDH. Got 6 pacs of the 39p wraps someone on here mentioned (cant remember who),really pleased with them. Unfortunately I succumed to the offer just inside the door San miguel 15 bottles for £8.00. Really good and dont often buy beer nowadays so figured out it was an affordable treat.
For tea 2night had the pork mince maccaroni and cheese bake I made yesterday. Hadnt made it for a while and really enjoyed it. We also had slo cooker rice pud. Will be reapeting it again tommorow as plenty left.
Tommorow must bake, no cakes in house at all at moment:eek:
Seductive smile have had a car broken into twice in the village we use to live in and I know how upsetting and annoying it is.:(:grouphug: from I am sure all of us on here.

£11.56 in Asdals - Lentils, More basmati rice (was on offer) and Chappati flour (£3 for 10kg!)
We have a griddle on our stove so the chappatis are quite simple to make and I am hoping it will enable us to eek out the rice.
Wish our A$da sold the big bags of chappati flour - I get mine in costco or MrT but it is slightly more expensive. I make bread with mine - the flour is finer than most bread flours and I find it makes bread that is very Hovisy - I also add 1tbsp vinegar to the water when making it which seems to make a lovely chewy texture.0 -
hiya,
£17.98 spend today for me in tesco`s,
mainly sandwich stuff, cheese, ham, fruit juice, milk, bread, salad, few treats, got plenty in only thing is dont really feel like proper meals!
kept a spending diary last month and was quite shocked to find we had spent around £250 on pretty much nothing,
really learnt a lot from this site & each month always do our soa & spending diary,
have been following the winter thread & have got plenty of candles, got new thicker duvet, all the hints and tips really do help, things like this i cant talk about to my mum as she just laughs about these things but come winter im nice n snug & she will be freezing!
my next challenge is to try to stick to meal plans, i can work out meals while shopping but never fancy things on certain days,
hope everyone`s doing well,0 -
