Spent far too much on take aways this weekend.
So not the best start to GC , but i plan to get back on track this week0 -
Milk from C**p £2.25. I know this isn't a good price for milk but I don't drive, and if I go into town to get it cheaper I will spend more of other bits and bobs! Hoping not to need to shop now until Wednesday pm which is when my DH usually does our Mr M shop (he does drive!).0
-
Hopefully on target for another NSD today although I have to take my DD to Maidstone for a job interview so I maybe buying the coffees, but I'm going no where near a food shop just in case.0

just about to bung jacket pots in for lunch after work and have made a postive step towards moneysaving by finally cancelling the milkman.SPC~12 ot 124

Hi everyone, I'm having a bit of a dilemma over whether to make an approved foods order or not!
I don't want to spend loads stocking up this month again, but some things I bought last time and loved are back in stock again and too good to miss out on... A 99p order of dough balls makes 10 pizza bases and herbs, and the 89p 3kg bread mix speaks for itself! Of course, I then want to make the order worth the £5.25 delivery so I may potentially spend £8.49+p&p on dough mixes, risotto, tinned peas, mustard, sauce and soup.
I'd be left with ~£20 for fruit, veg and a £3 box of chicken for the rest of the month.
Do I?! Don't I?! I don't have much freezer space(one small draw!!) so dry is the way I have to stock up.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Hi peeps,
just updated my siggy with yesterday and todays spends. Popped into my local Sainsbugs for some potatoes (their basics are lovely) the queues were huge and i very nearly left them but the lady on the clothes counter let us put them through her till so we went away happy in the end. I`ve no idea why half the tills were closed on a Sunday - the queues were halfway down the shop and its a big store.
Popped into the pound shop and found 4x Nouvelle loo rolls in there so was happy with that and today i nipped to MrA for a few offers. Sadly the shelves had great big empty spaces on so i didn`t get everything that i went for but i did get a couple of extras for DH`s "C" hamper
The pet shop has also had a visit and the dog food that i buy was on offer so have stocked up on that too, its working out well having a seperate budget for the pets instead of lumping it all together and i can keep track of it better by including it on here :j
I shall do some baking later and cut the cakes into portions and wrap them in foil to freeze - i find that they last a lot longer if i do this and if DH takes a piece out in the morning its thawed by lunchtime. His new food flask has arrived this morning so i shall make potato and leek soup to freeze and he can take some for a couple of days, hope that its as good as the reviews as the one that he had a couple of years ago was rubbish.
Meal plan for the rest of the week is.
Monday - Spag bol
Tuesday - Turkey, stuffing, veg and roast potatoes
Wednesday - As above, DH likes his roast dinners and dosent mind the same two days running, saves cooking twice too.
Thursday - Chilli con carne
Friday - Meatballs & spaghetti - been a while since we`ve had this
Saturday - HM pizza & garlic toast
I shouldn`t need to shop until next weekend now :j Actually it may be Friday as i`m working late shift but DH will be the one in the supermarket next week. He will be away for a few days so next week should be a money saver as i already have all the food in that he needs to take with him.
Good luck for this month peeps.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Hello,
Could I please be put down for £250 again this month?
Had a £88ish spend in Mr A on Saturday. £9 of this was a mop/bucket and £13 beer (OH insists on his Hiney!) and a £4 book for a prezzie.
This included lots of fruit and veg, plus pepsi max cans x 16, and a fair few freezer items, fresh chicken pieces for my first HM curry, plus my OH (being a bobby) needs his lunch things (he loves frubes, cheapie choc bars and meaty bits to keep his energy up, he's a big guy - tall, not wide!) :rotfl:
Although this does seem a ridiculous amount for two people! Not even a pet to make this amount seem to stretch further The shame
Oh, well. Cupboards, freezer and fridge all nice and packed at least, and aside from 2pt milk and 1 loaf of thick white on a Wed, we never spend any other time of the week apart from the Sat Big Shop. And quite often when we have a very big shop, we have a mini one the following week.
Wish me luck on my first curry making experience! Tikka masala, as am massive wuss when it comes to spice
Cheers!Make £2019 in 2019 No 153 - £4517.17/£20190 -
Hi all,
Sunnyday saw your post about Sains...well at the weekend Barclays had problems with their systems and a few places were affected by it...Sains being the main one!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ICBINB is on offer at Morrisons, cant remember if its bog off or half price. After seeing as lady with masses ,went to get some but they had run out (its only a small Mrs):money::money:
plan to go back tommorow night when I pick DS up from the train (if they have any more left in) Think the offer is on until 24th Oct. Wont be popping back before then , it does come in again tommorow morning as it us 12 miles from us. they had lots of the low fat variety but thats not suitable for baking. The assistant did tell me I could freeze it (which I do). It must be al us MSes out there doing our usual stock up!
