Good morning,
YM - your presence here is enough, don't be a stranger. But I know what you mean, been there myself.
Double AF challenge day 3:
- A: bliz house (landlord coming this evening)
- F: go to theatre with DD
Cup of coffee first..."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Had to do some research on heroin use for work. Went to a website that lists all the drugs and alcohol was at the top of the list (alphabetically) and interestingly it was the only one that had Very Addictive next to it.
Elantan - Has your hubby tried non alcoholic beer. Becks Blue is the best I've found taste wise. Could never see the point in AF beer before. I suppose when you are drinking there is little point!! But I enjoy a bottle every now and then. Those times when you just want to crack a lid and drink from a bottle:o
Re-reading a book at the moment. I'll post a link at the bottom. About 3/4 years ago I was having counselling for a rough time in my life (men!!) Of course I was in denial about my drinking so never spoke about it. Read the book then and although I enjoyed it then it makes so much more sense now.
Premise of it is that 98% of people have something pants happen to them somewhere along the line. Until people work out what that was and find a way to forgive and forget it they will be prone to ways of hiding or covering it up with substances or compulsions. Making a lot of sense to me.
Have a good sunday all. Going to try to keep off here today......So much to do.

365 i dont think he is into af lager ...i know when i spoke to him about it before he just couldnt see the point ... but he might feel different about it now ... i showed him what marru wrote and he fully agreed with that and thought that was a good way of thinking
he had 1 pint at the restuarant last night and two pints at home ... then spent the night cuddled up with me watching films ... which was lovely ...he felt he was in control last night said he felt like he couldve easily drank more but chose not to ...
i think it is going to be a long slow progress but it has to change or our marriage is over so....0 -
I have said this before here: It is easier to run toward something than to run away from something. Meaning that finding something that will fill the void that stopping drinking would create. I found it easier to instead of chanting: won't drink, won't drink to think what else is there that I can treat myself.
Also I used drink as an excuse of not tackling my todo list. Couldn't do anything when pickled. So I acknowledged this and told myself that it is ok to just sit down and relax and do nothing even if I am not drinking if that is really what I want/need to do.
Just a different way to look at this. Maybe one needs to fill the void that drinking fills. I. E there is a void there that we can't handle so we drink to fill it. When we stop we have to 'handle it' . I don't think stopping drinking creates a void. It just allows the void that has always been there to be seen........
And i said I wouldn't be on here today. If you see me again shoot me.
ETA. Elantan if things have got that serious for you that it could mean the end of your marriage it maybe a good idea for you to look at the Al-Anon website.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
