I can proudly report that i have 7 AFD under my belt now-woo hoo! I can't remember the last time I had an alcohol free Friday night. Feel good for it. i will have a drink tomorrow because I am going out with DH but I won't be going OTT. I'm feeling really inspired by all these people who have lost weight. I bought the SW magazine tonight and am going to order my shopping with my new SW menu in mind. I'm sure that my slow weightloss before was due to my reluctance to relinquish downing the wine!

DD, you say you dont drink, have you ever drank ? or have you quit drinking ? just being nosey sorry.

Below is my 1st post on here back at the beginning of September 2010. The bit I've pasted is actually what I posted on the quit smoking board and then Jo posted to say: 'Come on over!'

I have drunk in my life, but never to excess - hardly ever drink now.
If I have company I may drink a glass of red (or rather pour a glass, but usually only drink 1/2 if that) probably once or twice a year.
It would not occur to me to have a drink when I'm on my own.

I do however understand the lure of/struggles with alcohol as I was surrounded by it whilst growing up (not just with my father)

Hi becks7, saw you light on! Well done on your 7AFDs, you'll be getting a lovely sticker for that in the morning.;)

Lots of us on here are very motivated by cutting calories. I know MissP and I for definite are doing SW and others belong to other fat clubs.. There's no way I could have done it without cutting back on the wine first with the help of this lovely thread.:T

    Good Luck!
  • Enjoy your weekend folks, whether af or not. Just had a celebratory tipple with my eldest ds who brought his new partner home this evening. It will be a weekend of firsts - we are off to my fathers house tomorrow. My youngest ds has never met him as my father drifted away from the family long before my son was born.

I expect you're feeling a bit nervous, but I hope you have a lovely weekend, DM!

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
