For my new job the amount of byrocracy I need to go through is getting to the point of ridiculous. I am feeling VERY uncomfortable about it. If this new job didn't make such a huge difference in my life I would be quite tempted to tell them to keep it.

VERY quick post!

I spoke to my section manager and he was ok about my request to do less shifts - he didn't go ape, thank goodness.

So I've still got to work 4 nights a week for the next fortnight, but he's agreed I can start 2 hours earlier and so I finish at 10pm instead of midnight, which will help enormously. Then after 2 weeks, I should be able to go down to working 2 evenings per week - what a relief! Its not been formally agreed yet, but it looks like it should be ok.

So much happier already!

DS1 had a job interview today and we were so excited. They said they'd ring this afternoon but haven't :mad:. Why do they do that and leave you sitting by a phone all day?
