Firstly, thank you people for your warm welcome, I knew you'd be lovely!
Today has been a good day. My toxic, jumped up, bullying tw*t of a neighbour has finally moved out so of course my first thought was "celebrate with some wine!" I've been to Meadowhall with a friend and all the time we were shopping I couldn't get M&S and their £10 meal deal out of my head, been brainwashed by their ads and of course the wine. So that was it, I was going to do it, I deserved a treat, it was only one bottle, I would just have a glass tonight, blah blah blah. Luckily for me there was nothing I fancied in the food so I didn't buy it in the end and even though it wasn't down to my determination I realised that I could easily have bought just a bottle of wine anyway. But I didn't, and that makes today a good day!
Ribena, anybody?
Flump, yes it was hard losing my lovely husband and still is but I have 2 children and 2 darling granddaughters to dote on so all is well.
There are so many people I would have liked to reply to and encourage but I'm very slow at this t'internet stuff, hopefully I'll get better!
Hope you can all make it a good evening.
Luv

hi all
just a post to say ARGHHHHHHHHHH
I've been sober now for 16 months and it's crazy, but recently I've been wondering whether I'm actually an alcoholic, or whether it was just a really crazy bad time in my life that made me hit the bottle in the way I did.
So really confused at the mo

Sea,
I am feeling sooooo much the same. I've been sober for 11 months now. I'm having questions like 'Wonder if I could have a drink when I meet up with my old pal next week' 'Am i really the alky I thought I was if I have given up for this long' 'Was it just life that made me drink so much and now life is better maybe I can 'try again' at being a moderate drinker' and recently 'If i ever go back to Florence could I go on a vineyard tour again and sample the wines!'
Tricky questions.
At the moment the other half of my brain is saying 'You wanna risk it?' and at the moment I don't. I've not made a christams cake this year as I daren't buy brandy (few christmas back i went thru a bottle a week with the excuse I had to buy more to feed the cake')
So Sea, I don't know. Is it worth the risk finding out? For me personally at the moment no. But I completely know where you are coming from.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Thanks - it's not been worth the risk so far but i feel that that risk is lowering in my opinion, you know?
I just don't know. All in a tizz!! I don't want to drink in the house - just when out.
Thank you for the reply though - helps to know I'm not the only one!CCCS DMP:Feb 07

Maybe a look back at old posts of yours on old threads may help you see where you were. I had a look the other night and it helped me see how far I had come.
Well done by the way.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Hi all
Well, I've now hit rock bottom. I'd managed 2 weeks without drinking during the week and was feeling positive, but then a series of absolute nightmares happened yesterday and I got beyond smashed.
I don't remember much - but it involved people coming to my rescue and helping with the kids.
I feel so ashamed. Some of my student apparently 'found' me in the street just outside my house in a state - they brought me back in my house. I could lose my job about the fact they saw me in this state and no doubt was swearing and stuff, although apparently i was a happy drunk.
They were then too worried to leave me and when friend from london rang, they answered and then she got in touch with some friends who came.
This has all been told to me today. Other stuff happened, but it really pales into insignificance.
I'm scared. I'm scared of losing my job. I'm scared of losing my kids. I'm just scared.
So I've looked up online and I'm going to an AA meeting on thursday. I'll have to find someone to babysit for me.
I can't believe it's come to this. That my alcohol issues have lead me to feel like this.
