    Hi Jo,

The sleeping thing - me too - but part of my problem is I replace alcohol with coke, or tea, or something else that can't help!! so I bought some squash to drink in the evenings - I don't know how many adults really drink squash.

Now I just accept it when I can't sleep, get up and do something, and try to ensure I focus on the next day/ getting an early night/ whatever.

    Not very helpful! Sorry.

    Hi flimsier :hello:

from what I have read (and experienced) round this thread is that most people have sugar cravings early on. particularly choklit :) Again, it does pass....

  • Thank you for your warm welcome.

I'm interested to get reading about some of your coping mechanisms whilst coming off the booze so will have a good look around this (and previous) thread(s).

Good to know that these, I guess, 'withdrawal' symptoms pass! Just hope its swiftly! :)

Hello everyone, just wondered if I can join in?

I really don't do well on not much sleep and this has been the main issue every time I've stopped..... when I do manage to get to sleep I have hot and cold sweats and often wake up with the bed clothes soaking wet! :(

    Thanks, Jo x

Hi Jo, welcome... I'm a newbie here as of last week- and it's really helped me.... (They are an ok lot really...;))
As for the hot/cold sweats- I have them when I drink- since I've had a few days off- nothing !! I think the two are related.. for me anyway !! The sleeping thing- I know what you mean- used to use it as an excuse..... but- I'm sleeping amazingly now. Tried Nytol- needed it for a couple of nights.. now I find I'm so tired- I read for a while- then it's pretty natural.
    Anyway- welcome again
