PLEASE PUT YOUR TARGET AFDs IN A BOLD RED FONT and good luck!
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

  • 76% AFDs for 2010 - but too many units on the ADs, so New Year's resolution is to reduce those units significantly.

Have a happy and healthy new year everybody!!

Well done to everyone on there AF / reaching targets/ generally cutting down and sharing experiences :j

Hope 2011 is your year :)

I have been really rubbish and just used this time of year as an excuse but Im determined to cut down this drinking malarky x

So going to aim for 12 AF please Shaggy
I realise that to over target is just a failure waiting to happen so hoping to match December and then keep adding to it, which at the end of Jan will give me Febs target...... If u see what i mean x

    Good afternoon all

    Happy New year!!:T

HB - good to see you popping in :T

Things are much better in the piggy house today - thankyou all for hugs etc yesterday.

Glad to hear so many of you had good new years eves. We had a fantastic time at my Mum and Dads but I did imbibe rather too much white wine :o. Felt very dodgy this morning but much better now after copious mugs of tea.

Feeling very positive today - I do like the start of the year. The year seems filled with so many possibilities.:)

Shaggy - please could I change my target to 31 for January?

Aiming for an AF january - got to get on top of my weight and get fit (I know, I know...everyone says that at the beginning of January!!:rotfl:)

  • I see what you're saying, the most important thing is to break the habit of having a wine glass in your hand! I haven't got a sweet tooth at all either, which is why I like very dry wine, so grape juice, etc, does nothing for me, but lime and soda is worth exploring :). I do like the idea of giving non alcoholic wine a go sometimes when I'm out and not drinking though

Thanks, I'll look out for it. The Eisberg white was drinkable, but rose sounds better :)

Happy New Year to everyone, hope it's a good one :)

I Know that a lot of people on here are of the view that replacing wine or beer with an AF alternative does not work, but I am of the view of breaking half the habit (the alcohol side rather than the glass in hand side) is better than nothing :D

That said (I'm not one to advertise, but....) http://alcoholfree.co.uk/ have a huge selection of stuff. We found the cava alternative very nice. I also had a spell drinking some of the beers...... some ok some not. It did help me cut down, though not give up ;)

PS. forgot to say - happy new year everyone :)

  • Nice to see so many people feeling positive about 2011. I hope you all achieve the goals you want.

I had my best AF day for a long time last night. No bells really. I was exhausted this morning as I waited up to make sure DSs got back ok. Went to bed at 3 and slept a bit until DS2 got home at 5:30!

Despite that, I got up early and went off to meet people for a long walk at 11 and lunch afterwards. It was great to hop in the car with no worries.

Sorry - miscaluated my AFDs and % rate - mixed up the drinking days. anyway added up again last night as I thought it didn't look right in the end.

Recalculated at 315 AFD and 50 AD and 86% of the year spent AF

Thought I'd better pop the stats on correctly now to keep track again this year and see how it compares in 2011 Vs 2010

The bells did ring for me today and tonight but I managed to ignore them by copiously drinking tea and orange squash all day and on a happier note made it AF tonight making it AFD1

I might not be posting every day but I will pop on to update my totals
