    Good morning everyone

Had a moment yesterday when I felt I could go and buy a bottle of wine. But I stopped myself and went and bought some green tea instead :). So am sat sipping on a cup now and feeling quite bright and cheerful.

Trasijocha, I empathise with you. Have similar reaction myself to certain situations. Also your comment about being sweaty and jittery really rang bells with me. Monday morning when I had my bad hangover, I tried writing something on a list I was doing, and my hand felt really jumpy. That scared me.

What also scares me is that Christmas is coming. Normally I spend every christmas halfway merry (and more). Its going to be a real culture shock to me.

But I can only do one day at a time. I'll try not to think about christmas until its here. Today is whats important right now.

    Big Hugs Ragdoll.

    You've got it in one.

Christmas is just another day to me! It's only November ..

Try and take it one day at a time :)

I feel for you regarding your sweats, jitters and general jumpiness.

I don't want to scare you and you no doubt don't need me to tell you this, but these are warning signs.

The shakes will only get worse if you continue to drink as you were.

They're a sure sign that your nervous system is overloaded with the booze.

My shakes got progressively worse over a few years, and they were followed by 2 / 3 day blackouts :o

Take it easy, and if you feel you need extra professional help, don't hesitate to ask for it.

Another one slinking in to admit a lack of AFness last night :o

I'm sitting here trying to give myself a good talking to as my head is saying oh well you've failed the Monday to Thursday challenge so you might as well drink tonight too. Grrrr it's so hard to argue with myself, I'm too bloomin stubborn!!! I felt rubbish last night while I was drinking and I felt rubbish this morning and yet I still want to go and do the same thing all over again :mad::mad:

    Hugs Clarabell,

Just because you've got a craving, it doesn't mean you have to act on it!

    Treat yourself gently.

    Go steady.

    Good afternoon Ladies and Gents.

Hope this finds you all happy and well.

    It's a good day here.

Had my CBT appointment at 11am with my lovely CBT fella. That sounds a bit dodgy. It's purely platonic! :)

Picked up some grub on my way home, and have now had a gorgeous cup of coffee.

A couple of nights ago, I bought a second hand Dell PC on Ebay. An absolute bargain at £85 for an 'Ultra Small Form Factor' size PC (solid workstation with good reviews, so it should be reliable), and this included a 17" TFT monitor, a spare keyboard, mouse and all the cables, with XP Pro already installed. Th chap even drove over with it all last night, as he was only a 30 minute drive away.

This is going to be ideal for my new job starting next Monday (training for 3 weeks), as my old PC is getting on for 9 years old, and is on it's way to PC heaven..

My main computer is a Mac, and as we can't use Macs for work, I thought that it's high time for an upgrade.

About to test my work software on the PC, and then scoff lots of chocolate.

Still trying to work out who to ask for my four (!) references, which I need to email off to work by this evening :-/

    Sober here three weeks tomorrow.

    Feels good.

    Hugs to all,

    Sim xx

    Hi Clarabel,

I just read your message and decided we must have been separated at birth....it's my first time on here today as I have finally decided to take some action to improve my unhealthy lifestyle, as I looked and felt yuk this morning.

Saying this although, like you, I too could quite easily uncork another bottle tonight.........I need divine intervention!!

    Good luck

  • Anybody like to pledge AF'ness just for tonight? Just stay off the bottle until you go to sleep tonight? Go on ..... you can do it ....

Not sure how to use this properly yet as it's all new to me.

  • Evening everyone,

I've been to the docs today and my blood test results were fine! I am so relieved. The receptionist lead me to believe I had horrid abnormal results and I worried for nothing. Even my liver function is normal and that astounds me more than anything, if I am honest.

Anyway, I am still run down, but feeling like I may have turned a corner on the road to getting back to full health, from this virus/tonsillitis/chest infection/whatever it is I have suffered with over the last 4 weeks that has knocked me for 6.

Feeling the bells tonight, with my brain telling me the fact I am relieved about my blood test results means I can have a drink. Hmmmm..........

    Have a great evening everyone.

WB - GREAT to see you back! Hugs.

Do you want some virtual ear plugs for the bells? :D
