Another Ribena fan here (cold or hot).

I had a lovely time in Lisbon. It's a very interesting city and the 25 degree tempreatures were great. Quite a shock coming back here (that's wet, chilly England, not this thread).

Briefly caught up with your er...'interesting' weekend. Hope you're feeling a bit better HB.

I did drink while away (as I planned to) but I am much changed since joining this thread. I'm delighted that I'm no longer planning the second drink while I'm drinking the first. I'm not watching everyone else to be sure I get more than my fair share of a bottle. I'm not obsessed with having a bottle in my room because I can't wait 'til dinner time. And tonight I've slipped back into AFness no problem. Result:D

    9AF please Shaggy and

1 for this week's challenge Pen (thanks for letting me in when I arrived late).
  • Evening everyone,

I am delighted to report 2 AFD's please Shaggy! (that includes today, but I am going to bed now, so I can count it).

I had to go back to the docs this morning, as I've felt worse and worse since I saw him last week and my throat swelled up so much more and I have been feeling like absolute carp - no energy, aching etc. (yes I know the drinking makes that worse too!)

He said it was a viral infection last week and sent me home with no drugs, but it clearly isn't that, so I think he felt a bit bad because I've been suffering. I have severe bacterial tonsillitis and am now on a massive dose of penicillin over the next 10 days. I've been taking the tablets for the last 11 hours and can already feel a benefit, so I am hopeful for a good recovery.

And I am working on improving my health now. I am quite sure that my depression due to my current personal and financial circumstances plus my regular binge drinking and lack of decent food, has all contributed to lowering my immune response such that I am now very susceptible to getting all manner of horrid infections and stuff. I honestly can't remember a time when I was so ill and down.

So without wanting to set myself a target, I will be doing my utmost to stay AF every day and get myself back healthier and happier.

I am signed off sick for another 2 weeks so my part time job will surely sack me soon, but I am applying for part time work in other places and hopefully will be able to get something.

Sorry for the long post. Hope you all have a good night's sleep. I am off to bed now myself.

    Hugs,
    Caz

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Alchera have a great time and if you want to come back we will be happy to see you :) we are a nice bunch and just very wary of trolls due to the nature of our thread

Caz you poor thing really hope your antibiotics kick in quickly tonsilitis is really awful :( Try not to worry about your job they can't legally sack you just for being ill!

Glad to see everyone seems very positive at the moment, I know I feel optimistic this morning, I am off to the lifeline place at half nine in the hope they will give me a preliminary assessment and then ideas on how to cope with being AF

Good luck to everyone with your goals for today ((hugs))

    Morning all :)

I had some wine last night, which was a BIG mistake. Alcohol is very bad for the larynx *stupid* :(
