I am indian british and above bothers me as well. RANT over.BILLNORFOLK wrote: »Yes i do believe that this country is a soft touch for foreigners, who put nothing in but expect to take everything out ,i dont say that of all of them just the ones i know,if that means i am racist (which i dont think i am) as i have payed my taxes every week so they can get there NHS,dental and eye care free that doesnt bother me .Have a north African live near me 5 kids rent payed, kids schooled doesnt intend to work drives a 4 year old BMW ,does it bother me not a jot. What does bother me is my daughter in law has been 6 weeks without money with nothing on the horizon.
Would complain even less if he did not have to serve any time inside .
Get back to drawing board now.
Write yourself or your daughter -in-law to voda, signed for, apprising them of the situation and ask them for advise how to proceed. Telephoning get you instant reply and your course of action is decided instantly. Rather, write to them, then it would be written proof of their line. You can reply after consulting ppl who are very good at putting things in writing to achieve desired results.

Sorry Not meant to bother any one Spark_deals we have our home grown who have no intentions of working i know several of them as well.My son has writen from prison my daughter in law has done the same from home but Voda still asking for money they havent got.Its an 18 month contract at £30 a month 10 months have gone so payed £300 8 months left to pay so £240 still want £30 a month or £200 which he cant pay in prison and she certainly cant pay.0 -
Look, it is tough luck if they haven't got the money to pay it. Vodafone might reduce the tariff, or they might not depending what tariff the contract is currently on. If the price plan starts with 'YPL' then it can't be downgraded to a cheaper tariff.
Has any evidence been presented to Vodafone that your son is in prison other than him saying he is? They won't act on someone saying so alone. Why should they? Everyone who wanted out of their contract would say they were in prison!
They are ringing your (I assume) daughter in law. That is easy to solve.
Vodafone: Can I speak to Mr XYZ please
DIL: He doesn't live here anymore sorry
Vodafone: Do you have a forwarding address or number?
DIL: No. If you contact this number again you will be reported for harassment.
Sorted. You are making things more difficult than they need to be.0 -

If by trying to sort it out without getting a bad credit rateing against her address then yes there would be an easier way tell them to f off ,but would rather try to make them understand the proper way to stop the letters and phone calls ,don t think being reported for harrassmaent would bother Vodaphone.
I seems clear you have never recieved a prison letter ,before sending it is read ,after reading it is prison stamped to tell the world it has bean sent by somebody in prison.
Vodaphone have a letter telling them i am not in a position to pay or use my phone because i am in prison ,(with the name and address and his prison number)i need to cancell my contract as we canot pay ,as of yet Voda have taken no notice ,just returned from my daughter in laws ,trying to cancell sky contract same problem ,2 phone calls from Voda could they speek to Mr
as he hasnt payed last months phone contract they are idiots employing bigger idiots.
Many thanks to the people who have tried to help ,to the others come into the real world.0 -

Addresses do not get 'blacklisted' (not that there is any such think anyway).
You just don't get it do you? You have no grounds for the contract to be cancelled without paying the early termination fee!Vodaphone have a letter telling them i am not in a position to pay or use my phone because i am in prison ,(with the name and address and his prison number)i need to cancell my contract as we canot pay ,as of yet Voda have taken no notice
Fantastic irony coming from someone trying to get someone else out of a contract.,to the others come into the real world.0 -
Unfortunately I can't offer alot of advice, but they shouldn't be telling your daughter in law that he hasn't paid a bill as that is breach of the data protection act. She would not be authorised to speak to them regarding the account and they would not be willing to discuss the account with her.
I cannot really see why they keep calling her, and perhaps she needs to remind them about the data protection act as they seemingly forgotten it's existence. Most companies would issue a letter of default and then refer it to debt collectionComping wishlist for 2017

Not my problem and nor is it hers. It is your sons.
He has no grounds to cancel the contract. Fact.
He can pay each month as normal, or he can pay the early termination fee. If he is unable to pay then it will affect his credit score and the early termination fee will be passed to a debt collector (not bailiffs). That is how the 'real world' (your own words) works.
Have any of you asked they to suspend the contract for x months? They might do that.0
