I've had the same and just sent a screenshot proving I am a member, what a kick in the teeth - worse still I emailled saturday and got told I'd definitely get them by thursday so I bought ferry tickets (travelling from iow)

I have the right email and mobile on there - who reckons they over sold - very disappointed.

Are you sure you haven't got tickets... if you got an email requesting a RSVP this weekend then you should have got tickets. If not then it seems you're in the same boat as us..

It seems to me Nintendo probably meant the invitation noices to go to CLub Nintendo members only but forgot to program Membership details into the entry process. Tickets were therefore issued to the first 3500 who registered irrespective of whether they were members or not . Once they realised their mistake , after the ticket award, they screened through the ticketing emails and cross-matched to Club Nintendo members and then internally retracted the tickets awarded to non-members but failed to notify externally of this retraction.

They have made a big mistake in failing to notify the retracted ticket holders within a reasonable time period (After all the tickets were awarded on 24th Sept for an event 9th October and the retraction is only formally announced on the afternoon of 5th Oct). In fact it appears that, prior to this , they only advised people if they phoned them up.
The formal retraction email was only received at 16:00 hrs today after numerous complaints had been received.
I have a months subscription to alegal website "justask".. I will try and get some advice if any of you are entitled to compensation if you have lost hotel or travel deposits.

Hi All

To those that have complained to the ipm please check your inboxes as I've received an email from them requesting my details in order to be able to follow up on my complaint. It just came in under someone's name and I over looked it.

Regards

Emma

Dear Club Nintendo Member
Thank you for your enquiry.
If you have RSVP’d by Sunday 3rd October you will receive your tickets by Thursday 7th October.
Please remember the main respondent must bring ID. This can be photographic identification, and/or debit, credit or solo cards.
For further details please contact enquiries@wiipartyevent.co.uk
Kind Regards

Then today's bombshell:
Nintendo to me

Dear Damian,
Thanks for applying for tickets to the Wii Party event on the 9th October. Unfortunately we've checked your details against Club Nintendo and you do not appear to be registered with us. As this is an exclusive event to reward our loyal Wii customers we would require you to be registered in order to guarantee you a ticket, and all tickets have now been allocated to Club Nintendo customers.
We do however have 500 free tickets for people that are not Club Nintendo registered. So if you still want a ticket you can register at http://wiipartyevent.co.uk/500/ - but do it quickly as they will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
Finally, all primary ticket holders will be required to provide identification on the evening of the event - so don't forget to bring valid ID in the form of photographic ID or a debit, credit or solo card.
Good luck!
Kind regards
The Wii Party team.
If you have any queries please e-mail us at enquiries@wiipartyevent.co.uk
PS If you are successful, your ticket covers free entry to the park, as well as entry to the concert in the evening. Travel and accommodation are not included. Food and drink concessions will be available on the day throughout the park, but are not included in the ticket.

They're wrong so I've emailed them with proof of my club nintendo login, however I think it's disgusting :(
I have just got home and logged into my club nintendo Account (screenshot)

You have obviously made a mistake, I have owned every nintendo since the NES and clearly am a club nintendo member (in fact I can remember the old magazine from the 80's)

I have tried to apply for the free tickets too but now feel completely let down by you, I shall be considering if I continue to support nintendo after this mistake has left us upset and we have wasted money on ferry tickets.

I wonder how many others have had a - your not a member sorry ignore the emails we sent telling you that you'd won.

What's worse is I contacted you on this email address to confirm when I'd receive them and you said they would definitely be here by Thursday

Very Disappointed

Perhaps you can give me a call on my mobile x to explain how this has happened and what you will do to rectify it.

Damian Thomson

Here's hoping Martin or someone picks this up and runs with it, 3ds next year - I don't think so anymore!

Oh and I should add my wii, tons of add ons, a ds lite and dsi are all registered on that club nintendo account.

I emailed my legal support forum they replied with

" COuld be considered a breach of contract and you may be entitled to any losses or also the cost of getting into Chessington"

well that sounds too good to be true and I wouldn't hold my breath but might not hurt mentioning via the enquiries address )Nintendo <enquiries@wiipartyevent.co.uk> " "we believe that this MAY constitute a breach of contract and your failure to retract the ticket offer in sufficient time means you may be liable for any losses I have incurred" . Worth a try !!!

So I complained to Nintendo, Chessington, IPM, the ASA and Watchdog. This is what they sent me a couple of hours later:

We write in response to your email below. I'm sorry that the information you have received has been different to what was published on the Facebook page you mention. The Wii Party Event at Chessington World of Adventures is exclusive to Club Nintendo customers and was actually by invitation only, however we have had some fraudulent activity with people posting copies of the invite on websites.

As I'm sure you appreciate it's our loyal customers that we wanted to reward, but understandably you feel slightly mislead. It is certainly not our intention to disappoint you or your family, so we will happily honor 4 tickets to the event.

We will organise for these tickets to be dispatched tomorrow morning by first class post, so it's likely you'll receive them Thursday, Friday at the latest.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Wii Party on Saturday.

With best regards

The Wii Party Team
• Hi guys what is this IPM and ASA that you've complained to as I seem to be getting nowhere with complaining to Nintendo

Congratulations rodeline ... some key points:

1) Has anyone who entered the 500 extra ticket draw actually heard yes or no ?????? It seems to be gettinga bit late to get the tickets and make arrangements... thought these xtra tickets were meant to mollify!!!

2) I have checked the original Facebook invitation on the Official Nintendo Magazine Facebook group ONM UK from 24th sept ( you have to spend tem minutes scrolling down) . It clearly states

" Fancy a free day out at Chessington world of adventures . Nintendo is inviting you and your family to the theme park..... then a link to their website entitled " News: WII Party Launch Event : You're invited- Official Nintendo MAgazine."

there is no mention of membership.

3) I don't know where people stand if they followed a competition forum link ( which Nintnedo say is frausulant) but if you are like me and went through the facebook invitation then you have a legitimate complaint!!

Nintendo messed up big on this. They should have just accepted their mistake and allowed no members who applied their tickets automatically. You shouldn't have to reapply.
Also, IF this was invitation only, why didn't they give their members a unique code to enter (which is what so many other sites do successfully)
Or they could have made you login before applying.

This was stupidly done by Nintendo and I hope you lot at least get your money back for Hotels/Transport you've already paid for.

Edit: The marketing company messed up big on this. Try to ease off complaining to Nintendo (and Chessington), now you know it wasnt them.
