Here's the thing:

I called Nintendo to ask for my tickets and they said that the original invite had been sent to members of the wii club (registered owners of a console). So the system automatically makes you a winner when you apply, but then you only get the rsvp email when checked against the members list.

Even though the Ts & Cs didn't say anything about it being a private even, Nintendo told me I shouldn't have had the invite in the first place, so they are not obliged to honour it and I picked it up from a forum posting.

So, in conclusion:
-My 5 year old daughter in heartbroken
-My christmas list will skip the wii in favour of a playstation!

There's no way around this one. Sorry

I know it's far from ideal, but if like me you really don't want to let your consol loving babes down - I booked here. >> http://www.chessington.com/ It's certainly not the free tickets we were hoping for, but at the same time, least the kidlings aren't let down. :(

some blogger has reported that they called Nintendo to ask fortheir tickets and they said that the original invite had been sent to members of the wii club (registered owners of a console). So the system automatically makes you a winner whe...n you apply, but then you only get the rsvp email when checked against the members list.

My mum went through the official process via the invitation on this facebook page ( NOT A FORUM posting) and at no point was asked to log in or provide my membership details . She also logged me as the third member of the party. She got the YEs email buit no tickets arrived.

IF YOU ARE IN SAME BOAT PLEASE COMPLAIN TO winnersgallery@oxonpress.com and of course this website

Unfair Retraction of tickets for Nintendo Wii PArty at Chessington

EXAMPLE OF COMPLAINT LETTER

On 24th Sept the Official Nintendo Magazine issued an invitation via their facebook page ONM UK to apply for tickets for free entry to Chessington World on 9th Oct for a WII Party Launch and concert. The link took you to their website where you completed the form. At no point were you asked to log in with any Wii Club member ship number.

I got a confirmation email confirming I had won and promising my tickets in the post in a few days. They have never arrived.

The organisers now state that tickets were awarded but then cross-checked against Wii memberships and any tickets awarded to non-members were deleted.
Nowhere on the terms and conditions did it state that it was a private event for members only. I did not access the invitation via a forum ... it was via the official ONM facebook page!!

Some bloggers have reported that they had booked hotels ready for the event.

Please consider this a formal complaint against Nintendo Marketing about the implementation of this event.

Yours faithfully

• I am also in the same position as the rest of you. I have just sent yet another e-mail to the "enquiry" e-mail address (my last two have been unanswered) expressing my feelings about the extremely poor way that this "event" has been organised. Thank you Nintendo for spoiling the "Party" for all the youngters who thought (and were told by Nintendo) that they were going to. Also for the trouble it has caused where people have made arrangements about work travel etc.
