Proc, as a cat owner (and dogs and horses) myself I think it is a little unfair branding them/ me/ us idiots.

What? I didn't say all cat owners are idiots? Where do you get this garbage from?

I said that someone who had 2 cats, lives in close proximity of neighbours, has another 3 cats, annoys neighbours (WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT HAVING 5 CATS WOULD MEAN ANNOYING NEIGHBOURS REALLY? YOU COULDN'T MAKE IT UP) and then moans that their neighbours are upset; they're idiots.

Everyone wants to live next to the weird cat lady am I right?

At the bottom of your first post you have put "idiots" so if you weren't calling them idiots why say it? Hardly garbage when its been written by yourself!

Just think your being overly harsh towards someone when there is really no need.

Advice has been sought and people have given some good advice and tips. Its obvious your not a cat friendly person.

By the way not all women who have cats are weird!

Proc, as a cat owner (and dogs and horses) myself I think it is a little unfair branding them/ me/ us idiots. The OP has come on here for advice and for the most part people have given her ways of being able to accomodate the situation and her neighbours which can hopefully be resolved amicably but advising that maybe she shouldnt of had cats in the first place is just an unhelpful comment.

Would your neighbours be happy if your horses happily wandered into their gardens every time they want to !!!!?

Yes, not everyone likes cats in their garden and cats in general but unfortunately a lot of people have cats and that will never change. There will always be neighbours who don't appreciate cats in their gardens and there are ways if safely discouraging both from the owner and the neighbours.

How exactly does one do that, assuming that, as in my case, the little b@stards come in during the day (when I am at work) and at night (when I am in bed)?

Why should I have to dodge their piles of !!!! when I go to put my washing out?

There are ways you can discourage cats from coming into your garden which is safe to both animals and humans. Simple things such as putting down orange (citrus) peel, ground pepper and other items you can get online and in places such as Homebase which are designed to put in the garden.

I do understand the frustration as I had exactly the same issue before we had our cats and this obviously changed.

As for my horses they are quite secure on a private yard away from my house so thats a pointless remark!

I'm sorry to learn about your reading problem. Re-read my posts, then explain to me at what point I called all cat owners idiots?

Are my sentences too long or the words too big?

Some of us don't want cats in our gardens because if the cats are there WE can't go out to our own garden - it is an unfortunate fact that cat fur/detritus can cause allergies

There is absolutely no reason why you can't have your cats (and the number is up to you or your landlord) as house cats - my sister's cat was never outside and lived a very happy life on the 5th floor of an appartment block for over 15 years

It is also possible to make an enclosed run in your garden so the cats can be out but are not able to stray into other gardens, other solutions include topping your surrounding fences with prikka strips (though they are very expensive)
  • oh hum just forget it , glad i didnt post in the benefits section 'help i have 5 cats and i cannot afford them can i claim anyrhing?'

You should never have put the word "idiots" in the first place. There is no need to be patronising but its clear you are quite bitter about the whole cat topic.

Let's face it,cats can be incredibly annoying!

I used to have a cat (he got run over last year :( ) and I tried hard to get him to only do his business in his litter tray...because he's a cat and he roamed there is no way on earth of telling if it is the only place he done it.You have to remember that your cat could well be eating things all over the place too so will have extra to poo out!He ended up being a house cat but didn't like it so had to go back out again for periods of time!

Now I have some strange cat coming into my house all the time.Bloomin thing had our roast chicken the other day when I nipped to the loo before carving it!!!Came downstairs and the chicken was on the floor half eaten:eek: I've managed to catch the !!!!!! a few times now (never managed to spot him before) but no matter what I do the darn thing comes back!Unless I close every single window on the downstairs of my house I cannot stop it coming in.As it is I only have the top windows of each set open but he still sneaks in through them and does as it pleases.

    Now,that is incredibly irritating.

Just think, your cats could be doing the same elsewhere...even when I had my cat I used to have the neighbours cat coming in the window and I had to chase it out.Cats everywhere sneak into peoples homes, they steal food, they scratch things, they poo in our gardens etc etc.

Do you now understand why your neighbour may be annoyed with your 5 cats?

Ah yes. The old classic "he doesn't agree with me so he must be bitter" argument.
