where do u put the card number for discounts on amazon,i went to place an order and couldnt find where to put anything 4 discounts0

There is some sort of code you get off the nusextra site by logging in (not the same as any number on your card), then the details are there somewhere. You can't use 1 click buy. When at checkout put the code in the gift voucher/discount code box.pondie1 wrote:where do u put the card number for discounts on amazon,i went to place an order and couldnt find where to put anything 4 discounts0 -
you dont acutally pay for your NUS card
its the NUSextra you pay for.
basically you get a few extra discounts but most places accept any student card anyways so unless your buying like loads of books off amazon i'd save ya tenner0 -
NUSextra is a tenner, not NUS?? = really?
At uni (Northumbria) there has been no talk of NUS cards, just the extra one... which I havent yet got. The discounts do add up I guess, but having to already fork out for a young persons railcard I have exhausted my "discount card" budget for this month....
Does anyone know where i can get an ordinary NUS card...?Had to pull out of the "Money for Nothing Challenge" workload has just proved to much...

There is no standard NUS card available now like in previous years, there are 3 cards available, two of which you have to pay for and the other which is free, but you dont get discount with it. check out the site below for a simple comparison (scroll down to see prices and what the cards give):yeslek wrote:you dont acutally pay for your NUS card

most college's/uni's have only signed up for the NUSextra card this year.
this is why you can't get the free/£1 card anymore.0 -
There is still a free NUS card - it's called a "democracy" card and ensures that you can vote, enter SU events etc.
You will be able to get one from your SU if your university ID card does not say you are an NUS member.
I work for a Students' Union (and incidentally a lot of staff and sabbaticals are deeply underwhelmed at NUS Extra) where the university card doesn't refer to the SU, and we have boxes of democracy cards waiting to be issued.
I am also a part-time student at another university and my ID card says "Member of NUS" in one corner and has the SU logo in another, so that particular SU do not need to provide democracy cards.
Also bear in mind that the NUS Extra card is also an ISIC (International Student Identity Card) which is an essential to get cheap travel and discounts abroad. If you buy an ISIC card separately it will cost you £7.
Mel.Though no-one can go back and make a brand-new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand-new ending.

in the past different unis had very different NUS cards so they didn't all look alike anyway. i bet that in most shops any card which had a uni name and the word 'student' on it would get a discount. my NUS logo used to be on the back and no-one ever actually took it and turned it over to look. most students don't understand the changes (nothing has been sent out from the SU at my uni to explain the changes to current students) let alone most retailers!:happyhear0

Isn't that the case with everything?! You think the NSPCC does much other than television adverts?! I have never seen anything saying to the contrary and I have seen numerous jobs advertised by the NSPCC with wages I'd love to have.ants97 wrote:looks as if the top people at nus are just in it for the cash now. think the phrase sold out comes to mind.0
