I think thats a good idea as different things seem to be happening in different offices up and down the country, it would be good to see what things they are trying to implement in everones area - what new things people are hearing about royal mail, bonuses - door to door etc etc - and we've gone completely off topic now.
please send a pm if you do this.
Got beat to it
Great minds think alike, see you over their Father 0 -
with the attitude of Mr B.
You are NOT a postie to be proud of and you should be SACKED.
Anyone who signs for a special in our office would be sacked full stop. It is clearly against the rules.
As for taking specials out, any Special that isn't for delivery before 1pm and is smaller than a shoebox is to be taken out by the postman on his walk. Any service officer would know that.
I sincerly hope you never get found out but if you do you'll be getting what you deserve.nothing.0 -

Passionate Postie by chance.
I'm actually a very good Postman, good at his Job and has been Head hunted for Management.
Found out doing what exactly? I said that I know of SD's & RD's being signed for by the delivering officer, and funnily enough so does my Manager as we have dissused the issue on many occasions. Don't you get the lighter coloured SD's that have to be signed for by 12 noon at your office then? We do. Also, please read the thread completely before making personal attacks, you are an icon for whats wrong with the company mate, going off half cocked with only a small amount of the information required.I'm back after a break :money:0 -
Golly aint you great, red cape and panties to boot. I was head hunted because of my previous track record in management, but this was during the rather dubious Consignia period. Thanks, but no thanks.
My family take up my extra curricula activities and for reasons I would prefer to keep private, my reason for working within RM.
Your right about management within the company, though. Its a case of 3 attempts and your in, which is why the lower managerial structure is in such disarray.
And as stated previously, there are 3 SD stickers. The pre 12 may be outdated, but they are still in circulation and will be until they are used up, along with the other outdated stationary (Does the sign outside your DO's collection point still say 'Consignia'? Ours does)
Whether my manager is doing his job properly or not is not really any of your concern, or mine for that matter. But as previously stated, we do communicate and the offenders will be brought to task at a higher level than he can currently aspire to. Through our communication, I also know of 3 members of staff currently either stealing mail or causing wilful delay, 1 who is dumping d2d and claiming the cash and of several more misdemeanours.
I may not be Superman, tom, but that leaves plenty of time to concentrate on the important things in life, like having one.
Cheers.I'm back after a break :money:0 -
I will concede the fact that many offices do take out Sd's on the walk. Our office has opted NOT to, due to a high crime rate area and the fact that a number of pouch snatches had occured during a period before my joining. In my ignorance, I thought that this was a standard throughout Royal Mail and hereby apologise to the other Posties who told me different and I argued against.I'm back after a break :money:0

SD aren't taken out on the walks - we had no say in this - just management telling us that what was happening - more stress for the drivers, earlier finishes for those on a walk
