Royal mail help

One of the reasons I hate paying extra on Ebay for items which insist on Recorded Delivery, never signed for one yet and that is over 150 items now
It just comes through the post box or is left round the back of the house with 'Postie signed OK' written on it. One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -

that means they should only deliver to that person, so it's RM's fault.
Royal mail never deliver to individual people ( cept petitions to the queen lol)
Royal Mail will deliver to individual addresses0 -
Thanks for the advice everyone. The good news is that I did manage to get my package. I called round to some of the other businesses in the industrial estate where my work is and one of them had it. Why they signed for it when it clearly wasn’t addressed to them I have no idea nor do I know why after signing for it they kept it for a fortnight instead of dropping it in at my work. I got the feeling they never would of handed it over had I of not gone round enquiring about it.
I have made a complaint to the post office, after telling me twice that the package had been delivered to the correct address, they had a signature and done all they could. It turns out that the postman had taken it to the wrong place but I’m not holding out much hope that anything will be done.
MrB whats the royal mails policy towards posties who leave recorded delivery items at addresses without getting a signature?0 -

when people came to the post office to complain i sooo hated it.
we're like we can't do nething - go to the sorting office! we don't deliver your mail, royal mail do. PO nd royal mail are sister companies, PO are agents for royal mail, just like they are for dvla, UKPS, bill payments. when ya have a problem ya go to DVLA, not the PO.
...So don't go to the PO lol its annoyin0 -

Yeah... have you tried getting through to the RM lately? :rotfl:
The sorting offices don't have phone numbers any more, just answering machines to arrange a re-delivery. (Fat lot of help that is)
Talking to customer services is like speaking to a politician - they just hate giving you a straight answer.
You can spend hours on a letter of complaint if you have a grievance... whaddya get? A book of stamps.
I'm not saying it's right that people complain at the PO, but I can see why they do!My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

How did you have an Special Delivery with you AND get soaked. They only go out with the vans. Thats called security, you know, kept in the back of the van so no body can nick them.
For the record, I too take pride in my job. I dont mind getting wet, as I have this wonderful waterproof skin. I also will not sign for any recorded or special deliveries, and take the time to take them back to the office, but then I'm also good at my job, can get out on time, organize my walk efficiently and get back in good time to return the items I have not delivered. Many Posties aren't as lucky as that and are thrown on unfamiliar walks and feel the need to doorstep items as their pouches are full to the brim and overweight. You must have your head in the sand if you think that the pressure they are under to deliver on time doesn't affect them. Every week I read about another Postie being prosecuted because of the mail they have taken home, failing to deliver. Every week I see more and more casuals on the walks to cover those of sick with stress. The walks in my office are an average of 700+ houses and we do well to get the job doneI'm back after a break :money:0 -

I just want to add a very positive comment about my postie today. I got my post as usual at about 10.30 but at about 11.30 there was a knock on the door and th epoor postie was standing there very wet with a recorded delivery item.
Apparently he hadn't been able to get a response when he tried ringing my doorbell at 10.30 so had come back at the end of his walk to retry my recorded delivery item as he was sure I was in as my windows were open. He said he didn't want to take my RD item back as it would have meant me going out in the car later to collect it.
How nice is that?
He'll be on a good Christmas bonus from me this year.

My postie does that all the time, especially on a Sat morning when he knows I'll have been out the night before. Rather than wake me up he comes back with it at the end of his round.:j little fire cracker born 5th November 2012 :j0
