  • Thanks again. I'll pick one up next week. Do I just power off at mains before changing?

It is safer to power off before taking off the cover. The internal sounder will go off after a short while.

remove the battery, reconnect battery, replace cover and power up. Then user code,,reset reset.. job done

  • Not much chance of that Jim, but I've learnt a few things for next time.

  • Hi Guys,

My apologies, I don't really want to hijack this thread, but while we have some alarm experts here perhaps you can help me with a problem:

I have just installed an ADE Honeywell Accenta Gen4 panel in my garage. I have gone a bit over the top with sensors as I had two PIR's and a door switch lying around doing nothing. Everything works and checks out OK, except I cannot seem to get an entry delay - the alarm goes off immediately.

I have programmed a timed delay of 10 secs on the two PIR sensors, which does not seem to work, should I be using inhibit and not delay instead?

There must be a way of making this work as when you enter my house and trip a door switch you also cross the zone of a PIR as well.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Once again I apologise for butting in.

    Regards,

    Voltage
  • I'm hijacking too!

I was going to put a hard wire alarm system in my new house but from reading this problem i'm beginning to think I should get a wireless one!

Which is best! (Sorry from butting in! :D)

Sorry to bump such an old thread but I just had to say thanks to jim and securityman! My alarm has had tamper light on all week and nothing I did would fix it. I've been too scared to leave the house without the alarm on and we really couldn't afford to call out an engineer. I just followed all your instructions and we now have a working alarm again! thank you so much, can't begin to explain how grateful I am!!!
  • hello can anyone help me. The strobe on my alarm won't go off. I've replaced the battery and replaced the fuses and still it won't go off. I'm getting complaints from my neighbours about it being on constantly, can't afford an engineer and at my whits end as to what to do now. Does anyone know how i can solve this?????????
  • you dont say what alarm system you have ..
mines old now about 22 years old ..optima ..has not missed a beat in all those years ..
