Hi we just wanted to let you know that you are not alone - we posted our first message here last night. It seems to us that we're starting this journey at the same time. We're looking to go bankrupt after Christmas. We can't offer any advice at the moment because we're newbies ourselves but we have big hearts and look forward to helping where we can :o
In 2010 I would like money left at the end the month rather than more month left at the end of the money!!

Sorry for asking so many questions but we just didn't know where to start. It's really re-assuring that there is so much advice and support here - thank you.

So first step is to contact CCC ? (I can't go to PayPlan because I work with them for my job - how embarrasing and would not look very professional). I couldn't show my face again!

Then open a basic account. That should keep my mind busy for a while (every waking moment is currently occupied with our horrifying debt).

We feel that we've let our family down and really don't want to tell them - they will be so ashamed of us and disappointed - this worries us more than the creditors ;-(.

if its a basic bank account and you hold no debts with that bank then it should be fine as the OR will ask if any of your accounts are basic ones
