  • In the courts 10.30am tomorrow with my better half. Been a long road to this point, managed to negotiate with my creditors for three years, then my mrs lost her working from home job and the skids where well and truely hit.

    Hopefully upwards from here!!

    Cheers

BR in may 2010. Notified just over two weeks ago that the OR is applying for discharge.

I will name and shame those companies which have illegally contacted me over the past two days and should they continue to do so after discharge they will face court action of which legally they will have to pay my legal fees and cost / compensation should I have to reopen my Bankruptcy files.

    Fredrickson International
    Santander

For those of you in a similar situation. Good luck. Please don't feel its your fault. For those finding it hard to raise the Court fee, please don't loan the money unless its from a friend or family. My personal experience. I got further into debt by not paying anything until I had raised the fee and used the stalling tactic. I did this as I have no dependents and as I had suffered suspected stroke didn't care no longer about these money grabbers who buy peoples debts. I couldn't answer the door and refrained from answering the phone. Once I had the money I took the forms straight to the court before 1100am as most have a walk in counter these days with no appointment necessary.

What does annoy me is that I have called my Gas / Electricity billing company many times over the past four months and they advise that their Bankruptcy team will call me, initially should had been with in 7 days. To date I am still waiting for a phone call or a Bill. It seems they are deliberately stalling to increase further debt or is it a ploy to mess up my discharge? May be some one could give some info regarding the latter.
When you are new to forums sometimes you get things wrong, start a new thread and maybe you will get some help from the people who have been on here a long time:) I got it wrong the first time I posted:eek:

Good luck, it is not as bad as it first seems, the most important part fro me is that we managed to keep or marriage intact :j money has no value for me anymore and I no longer need or want credit. Just keep coming along here and ask for help. Good luck and this time next year you will be debt free

  • Thanks for the messages. Well the worst bit was waiting for 2 hours in the court waiting area with the rejects that couldn't get onto the Jeremy Kyle show. Apart from that the build up was worse than the event. The staff where very helpfull and we didn't feel like we were being looked down on.

Got the OR call early next week. I've gone through the CAB route, started it back in July so its taken a while. When I did get to see the expert at the CAB, the advice was great and spot on.

    All the best
