Modern cars are set up for economy: When you press the accelerator pedal, the carburettor and timing is adjusted 'instantly' to match the new demand. Such on-the-fly retuning did not happen in old cable-driven cars. Cable = sharper response but worse economy.

Modern cars do not have carbs, full stop. And it's not instant,;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

Get a Vec B. Nicer to look at and the CDX/SXi/SRi/GSi models are a good spec fun drive.

I bought one 18 months ago as a temporary 3 to 6 monther when my leasing company went bust.

30,000 miles later I still have it, no problems and has cost next to nothing with servicing and parts.

Even gave it a wash this weekend.....

  • Nice looking motor,I am looking to upgrade from a 1999 Rover 800,hence the idea of a Vectra C.
The Vectra C looks like a more modern shape and style,if you get my drift.
  • Don't buy an automatic one!
  • tbh you could have said you wanted to buy a bmw and you will get everyone who does,nt like bmw's replying.. i have a 06 vectra 1.9cdti and am very happy with it.. fuel economy for me is excellant.. and the car is a much nicer drive than the focus that i had.

It's usually a good idea to blank or blur your number plate if posting an image of your car on a forum
