Right. My injury isn't too bad today, in the grand scheme of things, so i'm away to have a soak, ( sod the expense,) get the slow cooker cookering, and hobble round on sc watch, ( whilst it isn't raining.)

Yes, ani, you are right, there is less and less money in the pot for benefits.0

We are constantly being told there is less and less money, but some people seem to do very well out of it. There have always been some who have fallen through the net. I was musing while under the shower of times gone by when I didn't have a working bathroom and showered in the garden in the dark from an outside tap and a hose pipe and sprinkler ledged on top of a fence. I existed like that for over a year. My silk purse out of a sow's ear came to the fore.
I hear on the radio this morning that Conservatives are looking at reducing housing benefit for the under 25s after the next election. At least that won't affect you Ani. Age is proving useful for once!
Hope you enjoyed your soak and that the rain stays away for you.Never pass a chance to say you care to those in your life as we are not promised a tomorrow0 -

The days of the outside toilet, and the inside bath in front of a fire, once a week, in a tub? Also the days of your schoolmates smellingThere was always one who stank. Oh dear, i'd best be quiet...............:D

Remember those days too (just)...in the 60`s I remember having the bath & splashing about in front of the black & white TV!! health & safely would go mad if that happened these days!...but back in the day we didn`t know any different I guess.
I saw a silverfish in my cottage recently and it brought back loads of memories of my Grans house (they were always scuttling around there) especially when we`d build a real fire and have fun getting her matches to light it....ahhh the good old days:o:o
Have a good day everyone and I hope the rain stops soon

By gum you do lead interesting lives. I too remember having a tin bath in front of the fire and the outside loo with spiders etc. as a child - and cutting up squares of newspaper and threading them on string. My outdoor shower was late in the 60s ad I hope I didn't smell even in the winter when showers were less frequent.
Thanks for the link Aesop - knew most of it but it did explain why she's got a permanent tickly cough.Never pass a chance to say you care to those in your life as we are not promised a tomorrow0
