Food is cooking and it smells wonderful.

    What a marvellous invention.

    Thankyou so much

Maybe i'll put a touch of ginger in to give it some kick. Tastebuds and all that. Yes, i will.

Slow cooker is faster than previously thought. Mind you, it's only vegetables. My ash is ready and smells and tastes delicious, so it's an early tea for me. Found some corned beef which the charity bought for me, in the cupboard, as i know i'd been unable to cook the ash. Forgot breakfast somewhere along the way, today. Bother, i've just remembered i have a packet of lentils i could have added. Never mind next time. Not used to this cooking malarkey.

You can't imagine how this slow cooker is going to change my life. Nor can i. Pasta next time, methinks. Food, glorious food.

Shame about the yorkshire puds, though :D

    :T:T:T for angels! :T:T:T
    Whoever you are. :)

Ani - does corned beef need to be cooked? I mean, it goes in sandwiches as slices, doesn't it? 'ot in 'ash is much the best though.

As to not having any brown sauce - well, I will forgive you *Grits teeth*.

I think my sc instructions say veg take longer than meat in a sc so you must have the magic touch. :D

I'll be interested to know how your pasta goes. The only time I tried it in the sc was a bit of a failure. :D (I think I needed to pre-soak or something - does anyone have any tips for me? :D) DS1 is making pasta bake for us right now - nom nom nom.

Look. I thought you guys were the experts in cooking? :rotfl:

Nah, no need to cook it. Put it in a bowl and the ash warms it up for you. :D ( or it does in my world.) :p
As to not having any brown sauce - well, I will forgive you *Grits teeth*.
Thats what comes from coming from the wrong side of the pennines ( not me, you understand.). All this brown sauce malarkey :rotfl:

    Keep reading? Watch this space?

Firstly i have to use the rest of the veg as it won't sit around too long. And by that time, i'll be fed up of the novelty of cba.

Isn't it just the weather for it today, though? That's warmed me up, i have to say.

That's definitely warmed me up and i feel fit to sleep, now. First outing with slow cooker was a raging success. What could you possibly do wrong? :D

That was probably ready after what, 4 hours i'd say, although i have been playing with the control and watching the electric meter. I was worried it may take longer for meat? we shall see.

In typical ani fashion, maybe its beginners luck? as i never do anything by the book. Be it a cookbook or gardening book :D I don't tend to follow recipes. A recipe is what is available at the time for the right price. Probably like the gardening. Throw everything in and go. And watch for perfect results? :rotfl: Aaaw sorry. I have to say that was THE most perfect cba i've ever made. The veg was cooked to perfection. I'm impressed. Roll on the pasta. I'm probably euphoric because i've had a hot meal. Sigh

What a day. Cooking. Opening mail. Making and receiving phone calls, as ever. Am i supposed to be ill? The good news is, i've heard i'm likely to get a sick note over the phone. Tgft. Well not physically, you understand. Relief? I haven't got it yet, and of course, i don't know how long for. Sigh. My cr arrived today, so appt for dro has been made. Now i've got another £90 to find. Will have to see about the prospects or should i say consequences of not paying my rent and ct next week. Money, money, money. Also going to the opticians. To my horror, i believe all the free eye stuff is pertaining to the very benefit i've been trying to dump. Best get my skates on, just in case. How about that for irony? More " stuff " to sort next week, if i can remember what it is. When will it ever end? Supposed to be going dsw tomorrow, but i don't have the right gear. Nor energy. Only time will tell. Best wear a bin bag. Ooooo, and i have some cba, for tea. :)

Hey Ani, fantastic to hear about the slow cooker, and that you've been able to have a hot meal - big hugs to the :A who gave you that (seems slightly inadequate for me to say that but if I waffle I might get all soppy)

Beanie - sorry to hear about your shoulder x

Smash always reminds me of uni days, I used to eat it late at night when i was busy writing essays I should have completed long before they were being done :o
