Ani, how are you doing on the paperwork? After sorting loads (it felt like loads) of change of addresses for Mum the other day, a new bundle come through. I know it isn't urgent (she left there ages ago) but it would be so nice to know I had them all done and dusted. So in my small way I am sympathising... want to swap piles of paper? Addresses are easier - but my attempts at sorting mileage might give the recipient a laugh.

Paperwork consolidated. Now just needs putting in order. I'd got into a real mess with my paperwork, ( and that's after people saying how organised i was.) How come i've accumulated so many bits of paper since i moved in?) A non stop stream of letters.

Seriously, i now have a dozen files, which i'm trying to keep labelled.
I think you need a list (gasp!). One of those nice ones with important sorted from urgent (I never got the hang of that).
    MIIIGGGYYY

Don't think you can come on ere with your lists :rotfl:

Seriously, are you feeling ok? I haven't seen any lists for some time. :D

    1. Doctor's appt. pending
    2. Cup of tea. drunk
    3. Ring TA (Territorial Army are very efficient so this should be over quickly). What a coincidence. Letter received, i rang territorial army, then they rang me
    4. Put kettle on. done
5.Go back on Tinternet in case you missed something on the Forums. ahhh
    6. Make tea. done
    7. Sort one mileage claim. urggghhhh
    8. Check Tinternet again. hmmmm
    9. Another mileage claim. sigh
    10. Check list to make sure you haven't missed tea. :D
    11. Consult with friends on Tinternet. in selfish mode
    12. Go for a walk waterlogged, n/a ( raining cats and dogs ) KERRRRIIIIIIIII............................

    Pretty. :)

However, Ani - working through a list? This is not good. It must be all the paperwork going to your head.

Well done on bashing it into shape. :)

I don't know what happened to my lists: I guess there's not been much to put on my thread lately. Just a table full of papers - urgh. It's too wet outside to do anything there so I think I need to have a look at papers today. :(

I'm glad i got the gardening done. Caught a slimey critter in transit across the top of my lemon balm plant, yesterday. How very dare they. Critter despatched to next doors garden. With neighbours like me, who needs enemies? But i don't have the heart to terminate its existence, and what else could i do? I'm now on slimey critter watch, and any offenders will receive similar treatment.

Last night was one of those nights, and whichever way you look at it, every solution is futile. Do you really want to end up worse off than you are already. Is this possible? Yes

Not even a ramble last night.

Dro paperwork almost sorted. I didn't recive cr, so that's it for this week. Put off until tomorrow what you don't feel able to finish today. I'd increasingly been thinking about my tax rebate. No surprise there, then. TA must be reading my diary, ( or my mind.) Received letter from them yesterday. 21 p60's,( and one p45  ) so far. I'm fairly sure there are still some to be depatched. What to do? Apply for my rebate now, and work on the theory hmrc will have to wait as long for any rebate from me, as i have to wait for their aherrmm admin in all shapes and forms? I seriously need that money. Its not as much as i expected, but still a tidy sum. For heavens sake, its june now, and any rebate could still take an untold length of time to arrive in my hands. What then. I've a sneaking suspicion hmrc and the benefits system will then turn round and take it back off my benefits in the form of income. Yep. I could almost guarantee that. Maybe its better to hold off from my decison until wro is back at work next week, and take some advice.

Every cloud doesn't have a silver lining, and i'm !!!!!!ed if i'm going to let the government beat me on this one.

On to slow cookering, ( urghh cooking. )

Going to christen my slow cooker today, ( otherwise i might get shouted at.) Got some new potatoes for 10p, yesterday, along with a cauli for 10p, ( i know its not ideal,) carrots 20p, i've still got loads of spring onions, (9p,) and i broke the bank as i couldn't find any mushrooms reduced, 60p. Can't have a casserole without mushrooms. God, i can't remember the last time i had mushrooms. So expensive. Months and months ago. Having said that there were some mushies for 10p the other week, but of course, i couldn't cook them. Realised when i got back, i didn't have any meat :rotfl: I'm sure there must be a tin of corned beef somewhere?

    Corned beef ash, coming up?

    Urgh, cooking

Just thought of any essential side to casserole type dishes.

    BEETROOT

    RED CABBAGE

    Smash :D

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thinking about it, maybe this should already be on the go?

Especially if i want to eat it today?

Not bad though. That works out at 33p per day for a cooked meal?

Not bad at all! I'm sure mushrooms would go well in a casserole in a sc.

New potatoes will probably take a while - I gather the best thing with potatoes and veg in a sc is to put them as close as possible to the heat, i.e. along the bottom and sides.

We can sometimes get mushrooms reduced to about 25p round here. Maybe you need to find one of these useful people who can tell what's safe in the way of toadstools. I used to have a friend once who could do that, but there aren't many people I'd trust with it! :D

You will have to get started growing your own beetroot and red cabbage. ;)

Corned beef hash? Count me in! Is there any brown sauce? :D

Looked at your ingredients again... if you've got it in the sc by the time you read this, I think it will be ready about 8.30 tonight (so I prob won't hear about it till tomorrow as I'll be off to work).

I have never grown Smash so I can't tell you if it's difficult. ;) A lot quicker than new potatoes, though probably not as good for you. :D

    Salad for tea?

Do you have to ask? No

Ah well. I should have cooked overnight, especially since i was up most of the night. I'll know in future :)

The good news is i only used half the ingredients which means 3 more meals, and reducing the cost to 16.5p per meal, ( unless i find anything in my store cupboard.) :rotfl:

Slow cooker is now slow cooking, ( you'd have thought i would have realised that, after all, the name is a give away.) :rotfl:

Slow cooker is also multi purpose. I can smell food cooking and it is heating my freezing cold kitchen, ( along with the bathroom.)

Its all a bit surreal at the moment, and to be honest it leaves me in tears. Father xmas has been busy this morning. Maybe its my own acceptance of other people.

To think. I have a slow cooker from a complete stranger. I have my first welcome to your new home card, ( i'm still not sure, but i'll try and come to terms with that one.) I have smellies and various bits and pieces, along with some wonderful smelling ginger.

To be honest, i'm overwhelmed and don't know what to say except

    thankyou xxxx

    Ginger casserole? :D

Slow cookers are nice comforting heat aren't they? Reminds me I was going to put rice pud in ours as DS2 has sore teeth and can't chew. I think he may have to wait till tomorrow now. :(
