Yay for the cheque and the fact the other one is still possibility. Really it must be costing them so much to do all this processing, you'd think it wouild be more effective just to send the money straight to you. Sadly I don't think they're allowed to do anything so logical. :rotfl:

If it means you get a free day out though, that's all to the good. :)

I'm loving that a simple (?) Google search can cause such hilarity, but maybe it was the subject matter? He he.

I've probably made a mistake tonight, but i decided to actually work out my income since it has stabalized as much as it is going to, for now. I'm still receiving approx £12 a week less than the government supposedly states is the minimum required to live on, but that is unlikely to change. Much head banging has been done by all concerned.

My gas and electric seems excessive, but i've only received the one bill as yet, and quite honestly, i can't cut back anymore. I only have the heating on a couple of hours at the most, when its freezing, ( which it frequently is, here.) My phone bill includes internet and mobile, and isn't too bad considering i don't have options. I've been told told get rid of my phone and internet.Yes i know. Maybe get rid of tv, contents insurance? Maybe cut back to one wash a week? Or not at all, even. Why bother. The council sundries is another bill i have with the council.

I haven't included running a car, obviously. Nor food or other extra's, bus to nearest place for doctors, supermarket, whatever.

For now, i haven't included the debts which will go into the dro, which includes actually, mainly council tax arrears.

All in all, i reckon i'm left with £10 a week to cover anything i'm going to need. Just edited that. I'm left with £8.74 per week. Its worse than i first thought. It really is head out of the sand time. I've only included things which HAVE to be paid?

Do you know, i don't know why i bother. Why don't i just through a tenner a week for food into the equation, which leaves me in negative equity, or whatever? Except there isn't a tenner a week for food. Note - I should also be paying £3.50 per week towards council tax arrears, but i'm not, for obvious reasons.

I remember feeling exactly the same when I was on benefits...its really hand to mouth existence at times. :(

Well done on completing your SOA though.

Your gas seems very excessive indeed:eek: . I live in an old detached stone property and even mine is only £50 a month....I reckon that you need to put a call into the gas board to discuss your monthly bill.

Just been looking on the benefits board, and realised i'm due for my esa increase? Shouldn't say that. I'll probably get a shock in the form of a medical, sometime soon.

Somehow i get this gut feeling that the increase in my income via esa, will be completely obliterated by the hb people. Any increase in my income means i'll end up paying ALL my rent and council tax.

Mark my words and remember I predicted it, first.

I can only wait until i receive the next bill, as i haven' t been using the heating, and then get them to check the system out? Although its possible as i struggled to get them to connect me in the first place, maybe they are taking the p by charging astronomical rates? They wanted to install a meter. I don't know what anyone else pays. Its a couple of years since i've had gas.

Jeez. I'm never going to sleep tonight.

    Thanks all, for calling in.
