Good evening Ani & friends....I hope you are all well.
Not sure about the charity work ani but you need to make sure you are up to it first and take your time. I guess you could see whats happening locally in National Trust?. Its funny that you mention volunteering as I had a meeting with the local credit union today and was so impressed by the work they do....I sat there thinking ...`now this is something I know alot about`...pity I have to slog my guts out in a paid job that brings me no enjoyment anymore:(.
Anyway I have a birds nest too (robins I think)...in my front porch on the cottage!!...eeek the little critters stare down at me as I go in & out my front door:eek::eek:...hopefully they fledge soon and I can sit out there again.
I hope that you are well though. I rarely get online in the week as I am deadbeat after a day at work but I am around.

If you're looking for Ani, he was recently sighted on my thread with a stein in one hand (no idea where he found that ) and a scone in the other, which was rather alarming as he was also trying to conduct...
I would also welcome anyone who knows all the words to 'Who do you think you are kidding, Mister Hitler'.Miggy

I don't even have the energy to write anymore. I'm so tired of it all.
This week continues much like last week and the previous weeks. Still trying to sort my benefits. The whole of my time off sick, had been the never ending job of challenging the benefits system, or more specifically, now, hmrc. Just been told if i'm awarded d** this will increase my entitlement to hb.
I read that story yesterday in the media. You know the sort of story. The one about the family with 10 kids, receiving benefits of £50k a year, saying how easy it is to milk the system. Perhaps they would give me some tips? Because the way it stands, i've been ripped off by the system, yet again. The person at the hb office yesterday, didn't want to get into a discussion about politics. Why not? I've nothing better to do. Its not their job to worry about politics. After all. They have a job in local government.
Anyway, its a real concern now, as i'm NOT receiving the equivalent of my £71 a week, to live on. Sorry. Survive on. Because its virtually impossible without getting rid of everything you have / own. So be it, you might say. What do you expect on a life of benefits? Basic living. Not even that.
I saw a couple of programmes on tv ( whilst i've still got the tv,) ( not sky, never have had sky,) the other night. On one, there was this young lad, homeless, and caught in a chicken and egg situation. There are so many people out there,( not just me, huh?) who get to the point where they say, enough is enough. Where you get to the point where you feel there is no point in continuing and the alternative seems a very logical solution. The emergency services must be seeing more and more incidents. They must have some appreciation of how many in the population, are driven to such lengths. I've heard of a few incidents, even with the sheltered life i lead. I heard some kids talking the other day, and i wasn't sure if they were directing their comments about me or someone else. In that case, everyone knows. Would anyone care. What it is, to be back at school again, huh?
On the plus side, i've weeded the front garden, ( it said on one of the programmes gardening is therapeutic,) i am going to weed the rest of the garden today. That's after i've spent a morning, yet again, trying to resolve the issue of my benefits. With the garden " done " for now, i should turn my attention to the inside, but i still can't bring myself to unpack. I've also been offered somewhere i can keep ani. I'm still reluctant to sell ani. In real terms i'd get next to nothing. At least i can now take ani off the road. What a waste. Can't stay like that indefinitely. The charity who have helped me over the last couple of years rang out of the blue, too, and offered me the choice of having my washing machine plumbed or a cooker. I think i'll go for the wm, although there is nowhere to plumb it without major alterations to this place, which now means i have to ring the council. But realistically its cheaper to use my own electricity than it is to go to the launderette. Thats increased the list of things to do, then.
Apart from that, i went into church yesterday. In all these years i've never been inside that church. I still can't say it does anything for me.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

I never said Ani was actually eating the scone, did I? Just conducting the singing... I will try to remember virtual ginger biscuits for you next time instead of the scones.
Maybe the turtle is circuit training?
Ani, I really hope the d** works out, and hence the hb. I wouldn't restrict your views on politics to the hb office, though: there are others who need to hear what you have to say. Maybe one day you'll write a book. (I noticed once that the material on these forums is copyrighted to MSE but that doesn't mean you couldn't use it as source material. I know, I know, you hate writing. Still, you have something that needs to be heard).
I'm delighted the wm is going to be plumbed in. Has your house not had one in for previous people? Just wondering if it was put in the hall or something. Our house is very difficult to fit things in too: 12' x 6' galley kitchen. When we were given a dishwasher we only got it in by removing the cupboard under the draining board, but at least there was plumbing for a wm already under the (single unit) work surface.
Great that you can have a place to put ani. You aren't stashing him/her/it at the back of the church are you? Just asking...
Well, I'm still sitting here in a dressing gown which is disgraceful even if I am working nights. Poor DS1 got locked out for nearly an hour because I turned the phone off and he forgot his key. Where has the sunshine gone? I will try to get back on the computer later but can't promise as DS2 wants it for revision.
Your turtle reminds me of 'Finding Nemo' - "just keep swimming". Did you ever see it? Somehow I don't think it's your sort of film.Miggy

I came on here because i can't sleep tonight and got completely sidetracked / shocked.
Things are very bad on the emotional front, again, and lets face it, there isn't the funding for emotional support. Where do you go when you need it? Although, of course, you don't want it. Need and want, are two separate definitions
Is it the 1st June today? I don't know. Probably. Half way through the year, and still, nothing has been resolved. Doesn't everyone live stressful lives, theses days? But there is only so much stress anyone can take, isn't there? Its times like these when i really don't feel able to continue my diary. .Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?
