Isn't that just a resignation to the inevitable?

I understand why you want to give up, but I wish you wouldn't.

Don't sell ani, and don't start clearing your house.

Appeal. You may not have the energy for it, but help is out there.

Today I was reading on a group I belong to how someone tried to claim something was turned down flat. (wrongly I may add) they appealed, and while appealing the original decision was overturned.

It does work, just takes time. I know there is no money but you need to give it a go. Appeal.

I think Aesop's right - I also know people who've had to appeal for things that are their right. The system seems to be designed to dissuade every possible person and it works especially well for people who are educated and / or respect 'authority', it seems. I suppose that's because we tend to assume authority figures know what they're talking about - but that's not necessarily the case.

I can well believe you feel this is insurmountable, but there has to be a way through. WR thinks it's worth an appeal. Go for it. The Council has at least acknowledged that you are due something. Now let's get them to get their figures right. Maybe someone put a decimal point in the wrong place? It can happen.

Make that appeal, and hold onto your stuff - who are they to take it? And - it may well be against your inclination, but didn't you say you once appeared on TV? Could you contact that programme again? (Sorry if I've got that wrong, not sure of the details).

Also, does the payment from the forgotten job mean you still have a tax rebate to come?

I still have a tax rebate to come, and as far as i'm concerned, NO ONE is having that money. I need some spectacles and a new mattress. They have been top of my list of luxuries for years , now. How else am i ever going to get them? I'm fed up of not being able to see. That said, maybe i don't do too badly on the computer, but only because i'm a b* perfectionist.

The council are starting down the road to eviction. What becomes of me when i'm homeless again? Do they attempt to rehouse me? I doubt it.

I have an appointment with *** today, though i can't remember why. The list is endless.I think maybe information on all the problems with my bank and bank charges today. I then have an appointment with the da on monday. Thats going to be a waste of time as this is the biggie. Have benefits, will sort out debt payments to my creditors. With what? I've no disposable income. That means everyone is going to be on my back, from monday. They've all been waiting until d day, ( that is, until i received my benefits.)

Everyman and his dog, is coming to visit me today. Wr, sw, scw and someone from the care service also said they wanted to join the " meeting". I've no cake. For that matter, coffee. At the end of the day, there's nothing they can do, except say appeal. Are they going to pay my bills? I think not. They probably can't pay their own.

Tv programme doen't give a ra. All they were interested in was a repossession for their programme. I haven't heard from them since. I'm sure at the time they said i would be inundated with offers of help, as it was a big human interest story. Not a sausage. I couldn't cook one, anyway.

    BLAH

Must get stuff together for ***

Aesop - I can't afford ani, and i'm sick of people telling me i can't. Anyway, the homeless don't have cars. Nor do the deceased.

I just read the irony of that post. The unfounded optimism i might actually purchase spectacles. Cross the mattress off the list. I have no need for one of those.

Good luck with all those meetings, Ani. Don't see why you should have to give them cake and coffee? Nice thought but you need to spend that money on you. Let them see the reality of no income.

Hope you get the glasses when the tax rebate comes through: you really, really deserve to be able to see clearly - it's appalling that you don't get that for free.

Don't worry. Unfortunately nobody gets anything when they come here :o

I think you do get most of it for free, the eyesight test and maybe the lenses or frames? I'm not sure, but i've got a feeling you have to pay toward something.

    Sigh

I've just written a long post and computer crashed yet again. I'm too tired to rewrite.

Basically bank has taken my benefits and stopped my dd's from my new account. Its a shame, because up until the point of people taking unauthorised payments, i WAS actually managing my accounts, despite everything. All that good work for nothing. I have to call into the bank to try and get them to repay my benefits. I now have to sort out a new bank account and make sure NO ONE has the details. Yes, i know that isn't possible. Bb is watching you.

Hb and ctb is unlikely to be sorted anytime soon.

The most useful thing to come out of today was *** asked if any member of my family had been in the forces. Nobody has mentioned this before. I'm sure my dad was in the raf. It was a standing joke, because he hated flying and he never flew in his life. :rotfl: If he couldn't sail there, he didn't go. I'm sure i remember a photo if him in his uniform. Apparently *** can forward you to the British Legion, i think it was, for help. We ran out of time, but they will forward me on monday.

Mass exodus now as half of mse departs to the ***. Thats definitely a new one, on me.

    Hey Ani,

Sorry if anyone has already said this and I haven't read the whole of your post but have you tried the Salvation Army or YMCA for a new mattress as we donated all one of my Granny's furniture (some of it pretty new) when she moved into a care home and I think they give it to people in need.

The other thing was do you need a single or double mattress and roughly what area do you live in? My cousins spend their lives moving in with people and breaking up and I think there may be some random furniture at my other Granny's House which isn't wanted although not sure exactly what is there but I can find out.
Life is like a sandwich, the more you put it in then the tastier it gets.............just go easy on the :spam:
