Urgh, toothache is evil. I had to pay for my root canal as the dentist had just (2 weeks before) gone private. Mind you, the tooth has been good ever since so in a way it was worth it. I do hope yours is not too expensive though.

I hope Ani's okay too: we knew the computer wasn't going to last forever but it is hard to keep going when you can't speak to your 'support group'. I hope the 'thinking of you' thing works without the computer as an intermediary, as I think of Ani and pray things change for the better, and I hope he/she knows that...


As for me, I am the crazy woman who logs onto MSE from stunningly beautiful Switzerland because she wants to see how her friends are! Yes, I have been on hols since Wednesday, to the most non-MS place I have ever been, everything is at least two or three times the price I would pay at home. :eek: We have to be careful but our hosts treated us to a travel pass so fares are half price: yesterday we took the train to Lucerne, had an hour's boat trip across the lake to the foot of a mountain called Rigi, which we went up by funicular railway - talk about 'on top of the world'! However, I now have a horrible cold so I'm not totally living how we suppose the other half to live.

How's it going Aesop? Let me reassure you there is life the other side of toothache - because I'm sure you can't think of much else right now. I hope they can sort it soon.

By the way - just to counterbalance the things people say about root canals: mine was actually a relaxing experience and completely pain-free. (I don't know if the dentist took special care with me because I had waited in the surgery for an emergency appointment the week before and when they said they couldn't do the emergency work that day I just burst into tears and sobbed that I didn't know what I would do if the pain came back - and the kind receptionists mopped me up and I think had a quiet word to find which dentist would stay on! And that was the same dentist who did the canal later).
