Good on the charity and your lovely colleagues. :)

Am quite concerned to hear you are thinking of making a list... are you feeling all right?

I've been trying to buy black peas and i can't find them anywhere. I will have to wait until bonfire night, i know where i can buy some, then. These will make very cheap meals.

Sainsbug's seems to be selling them online - but whether that translates into availability is another matter.

I think you are right, nobody can really understand what it is not to have any money unless they've been there themselves. I've been hungry, but I still had a guaranteed roof over my head and regular money coming in, and I could still eat even if the meals were on the small side.

I saw you'd posted on the 'worst thing' thread... I'm sorry someone didn't seem to think you were serious about the kidneys, I'm sure you were. On the other hand, some people would just have been joking, and I suppose the casual reader wouldn't be able to tell one from the other.

Back to the subject of Black Beans - are you looking for black kidney beans or black soy beans? Not that either seems to be easy to get hold of.

I'm back - glad you are too. :)

DS2 would have enjoyed the amphibious cars. Does Switzerland specialise in them? All those people misjudging hairpin bends or something?

Hairpin bends.Ah, i nearly ended up down a mountain face once, ( not my driving, you understand, i was on a coach ). :rotfl::rotfl:

I saw it on the news this morning. You should realise by now, i'm a mine of useless information, ( which is how i took note of the kidney issue ). :rotfl::rotfl:

Noooo, but as i'm going shopping for more than one item, i'd better not forget the things i need. This may be the last time, ever, i get to spend £50 on food. :rotfl:

Can you imagine? I don't know where to start :o

    Thanks miggy xx

I hope you don't get ostracised for taking me seriously :o

The tone of my writing is so often misunderstood, but your'e right, i was serious about the kidneys, so rather than reply, i started my own thread.

Its something i've thought about, and like i say, i wouldn't think twice about doing it. But this is only for me, everyone else has the right to make their own decisions. Its just another of those topics that get swept under the carpet, because for..................

I like a good, serious, debate, thats if anyone takes it seriously, because it is a serious issue which could well come to fruition. Who knows?

Can you imagine? I don't know where to start :o
Tea/coffee & sugar if you use it
    Bread
    Butter/marg
    Veg/fruit - fresh/tinned/frozen
    Oil of some kind
    Pasta/rice/potatoes
Breakfast cereal if you have it
    Baked beans
    Milk
    Pies/sausages that type of thing

Are you "allowed" non food items - shampoo, loo rolls etc?

And black beans if you can find them.

Sure there must be more but can't think at the moment.

And, yes, we're really glad you're back. I do worry if people who usually post every day don't.

    Wwwwrrrooonngggg :rotfl:

I don't want black beans, i want black peas, you know, the sort you get all around the world tonight :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'll give you a gold star if you work that one out, you should do :D

Thanks HL x I suppose after almost a year on this site, i still don't really know anybody, except through their diaries, ( or it feels that way ).

I don't really need any non food items. I've a couple of cash and carry cards, ( yes, i do use my head ), so i've got gimormous sizes of various odds and sods which were very cheap and will last me for ever, ( far cheaper then the supermarket ).

Coffee, don't drink, ( thats one of the things which attracted me to miggy's diary ) :rotfl:

    nor sugar,

    eg, maybe?

still haven't started the last lot of oil.

    spread - yes

    pasta, yes, i'm out of

    ditto pasta sauces etc

baked beans i'm out of for emergencies

Thats about it. I still don't have a freezer, so i buy milk, fresh fruit and veg as its reduced, ad hoc.

Maybe some tins of corned beef, then i can make corned beef ash, with whatever i get reduced.

Ah gravy granules, i'm out of. :D

    VITAMINS VITAMINS VITAMINS

    Lots of fresh fruit

    Don't do :spam:

Don't eat much meat these days, either, just whatever is reduced.

    Stopped eating bread, too.

Pah, its quite difficult to think of what food to biy.

Ah, might have some value fish and chips for a treat, the sort you don't have to freeze. Mmmm fish and chips. Make sure its addock, yup, i'll get some fish.

I'm very fussy about meat and where its come from, in fact, i'm so fussy about food these days, i probably eat quite well, given my non existent budget.

Which reminds me, i'll get lots of vitamins, as i stopped taking these a long time ago, since i can no longer afford them.

Its surprising how quickly £50 goes when your'e not used to spending it.

I'll be back in a mo to delete this list before miggy sees it :p

love wikpedia, even though not always accurate.

    Ani, :hello:

I won the money on bingo. It was a free £5 I had to play with, but had to deposit £10 to withdraw.

Believe me it was a pure fluke and not likely to happen again.

I only play free bingo or the free plays they give me, knowing full well I am not not going to win large amounts. so am not bothered.

this free play was to land me a bonus so I could eventually get a voucher! :rotfl: and they haven't given me a bonus! :rotfl:

    sorry, no instant solutions.

    Aw well, never mind.

I already read the info on wiki, thanks aesop. x I know somewhere i can buy them, but not until 5th november :rotfl: The more you can't have something, the more you want it. I figured it would be healthy just to eat peas. :) A pea diet? ( along with fruit, as well ).
