did you have a good holiday?

no change on tooth front. I won some money which I used to pay nursery the money I owe them, and the tax man.

I will call around and get quotes. Am selling stuff on ebay this weekend.

And now I know nursery is upto date can put money aside for my tooth.

Ani, kept checking and it was great to see a movement today. Great about work - things will change, you will see.

As to me, I am slowly recovering and trying to hatch some plans. It is hot here but lovely in the evening.

Well done on winning the money and getting the payments made. :) I'm sorry the tooth is still bad - though you're now nearer to gtting it fixed. I think it's free listing this w/end, isn't it? Good luck, I hope you get some good prices. :)

Really smashing holiday, thanks, though I did get a cold half way through which knocked me for six. I like to think all the sunshine helped me get better quickly. Old habits die hard - I thought of this thread from 6,000 feet up Mt Rigi, looking down at distant yachts in Lake Lucerne: 'Ani would like this!' I know Rigi isn't as big as the proper Alps, but it was the highest I've been on land, and I forgot to be scared of heights because it was all so breathtaking.

Back to earth with a bump: I'm on a run of nights and have a hacking cough. :D

Switzerland is soooo expensive, though, I think it may be a while before we go back. :)

Are you back from holiday, miggy? Switzerland plays host to amphibious cars at Lake Neuchatel, this weekend, if you are still there.

    Where did you do that?

I could desperately do with winning some money.

I hate my diary and i hate the fact i'm still unable to move forward, financially, and i now hate talking about it.

I've had a little support in the real world. The charity met, and decided they would help once more, with my car expenses, by paying the arrears of my car insurance, and they paid my car insurance for the coming year, which was due the following week. This was pushed to the wire. I'm lucky i was still insured. Why do i own a car when i can't afford one? Everyone still agrees ani is needed for work.

So there we go. This is the first time in probably 15 years, my car insurance has been paid up front, in full, and i don't have to spend the rest of the year worrying how i am going to meet the next payment. They didn't pay for breakdown cover though, which i must not forget. I now have no breakdown cover, which is not good news, for an old car.

The charity is also going to take me to a supermarket and and spend £50 on food shopping. They did this almost two years ago. Two years and they are still having to bail me out. I doubt they will help again. There are others in need. Its a strange feeling having someone observing you shopping and paying for it. Quite degrading, in fact. Still, beggars can't be choosers. For this i will have to make an exception and be organised and make a list, miggy, as i'm not used to spending such a huge amount on food. There are some things i've run out of, which i must replenish, staple items. I've been trying to buy black peas and i can't find them anywhere. I will have to wait until bonfire night, i know where i can buy some, then. These will make very cheap meals.

Unfortunately time stands still for no man, and since the person who is taking me shopping was going on holiday, i have to wait until they get back, for my food. I could be cynical and say, how ironic? Just as well, i'm not completely starving, yet.

There are still many people both in the real word and the on the tinternet, who have no idea about anything. Yes. I think i could say anything. They are too wrapped up in their own little worlds or ego's, or maybe they have no comprehension of anything until youv'e been there / done it / lived it, yourself.

When i was clearly so upset, at work, two colleagues came to my rescue, and lent me some money. Only a small amount, £20 each, which was spent that day on unavoidable work expenses. Didn't even have time to rest in my pocket. Never a borrower or a lender be. That rhyme has always stuck with me. I've never been a borrower, on a personal level, i e friends, i'm more of a lender, ( or a soft touch ). It really helped me out, at that time, even though i was penniless again, almost immediately. This money will be repaid this week. I don't like the fact i owe real people money, especially when its so hard to come by, but i'm eternally grateful to them. Another person who would have helped, couldn't because they too, are in a similar position, although they have a family. They said they know what its like to be ' skint ' too, whereas many people say they are struggling or skint, its just an euphemism. They are not at all. It would appear most people aspire to be wealthy. Maybe in my youth, i was more ambitious. I wanted a good job, somewhere pleasant to live. I too read the e west stuff many many years ago, when it was first published, but its now a bitter pill to swallow, having had my hovel and just lost it, is something i will never aspire to or dream about again. I wonder how many people know what its like to be truly skint. That no savings, no credit card, no overdraft faciility, no money in the current account, no money in your pocket, no access to money or credit full stop? This is being skint. This leaves you with the feelings of despair, worthlessness, whatever. Its indescribable, how it makes you feel. I'm still in that place, unbelievable.

Real life is much simpler nowdays, and all i need is a simple life. Preferably with a continuous roof over my head, and enough money to cover the basic necessities of food. Nothing extravaagant. All my healthcare will hopefully be paid for by the nhs. I called in at the opticians, as i may be able to have a free eyetest soon, when i hear back from the benefits office. I had a look in the ' poor ' box, of spectacles they keep hidden in a box under the table :rotfl: Found a pair, not that i would choose, but i could certainly live with. Hmm the price for being poor - you cannot even choose a pair of frames you like / to fit with your identity. But it doesn't matter so long as i can see, hey?

I'm back - glad you are too. :)

DS2 would have enjoyed the amphibious cars. Does Switzerland specialise in them? All those people misjudging hairpin bends or something?
