Thanks Aesop, I've had a quick look and my settings seem to be the same as yours so maybe it's my browser?

I have to dash off right now but I will explore further - amazing what's lurking and I've never noticed (I had to look carefully to find 'Quick Links'!)

hope you have managed to get some work for the next few days.

just called tax credits to explain have to pay full amount for DS in August and in September, the price is going up.

she said to me "did you inform us of this calculation when you called us before and we calculated your yearly average?" :mad: I said to her, yes when I called, I told you, the price goes up in August but the manager won't tell me how much, I will have to call you back in August when I know. Ok, no problem.

so why is she talking me to so snootily? and I said to her the price goes up again in September but they haven't told me how much I have to pay yet. As they have to take into account the 15 and half hours he gets from the Govt. so I will call back again when I know.

believe me I don't want to pay £2.xx or whatever it cost me the last few days to call you!

I'm getting more wordless as the days go on, ( i don't care if wordless isn't in the dictionary ). I'm banging my head against a brick wall :wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall:


Its just as well i didn't drive to work this morning. I had a tenner left. The sum total of my worldly wealth. Did i buy petrol, or use public transport? At the last minute i decided to use public transport. Its just as well, because the car park was £12, and there was nowhere else to park. Its little things like these, just to go out to work, that hits someone who is ' skint ' in every sense of the word. The cupboard is bare, ( the bank account, that is). I've got to pray this will change at midnight, ( the company who is due to pay tomorrow ). Otherwise? I'm supposed to go to work. Supposed, being the operative word. Ironicaly, i received a call from a work colleague,this morning. Did i know when such and such pays? You always know everything. Yes i do. I rang them on monday. They must be desperate, too. They want some help with wtc. They MUST be desperate. There are more and more of my colleagues going under. Its not just me. I know its not just me. Its just my financial state has been worse for longer.


God. Its been so long now. 17 moths after bankruptcy and i'm heading right back where i started. Back into debt. Although my debts are comparitely small, they are accumulating and debts i don't stand a cat in hells chance of repaying. There was a programme on tv last night. What does it take to send a person, to that state. I know, exactly. To get to the stage where you think what can i do? I've run out of ideas. I've run out of motivation. I've run out of energy. I've run out of money. I've run out of everything. I'm now considering selling the few remaining assets i have, like my car, my furniture, i don't really need anything. They are all inanimate objects. What do i need them for?


Hmrc said i should take advice from the cab as electricgate isn't my fault. But i think we both suspect who has the upper hand. Electricity used, has to be paid for. They told me Bg are cheap at the moment, and my neighbours who don't have to worry about charges and were unaware of costs, are using bg too. Its 2p a unit cheaper, which almost halves the nightime bill. The only problem being, i doubt you can change suppliers when you are in arrears.

Two letters when i arrived back. One from the Consuner Support Ag***, with all the details of my bankruptcy. Who are they to remind me of what i'm trying desperately to forget? I could receive a substantial windfall. Very tempting when you have no money, but i'm sure any windfall i would or would not receive, would go straight back into my bankruptcy. Not worth more emotional stress, but more emotional stress as i report them to oft. Yet something else which has to be done.

The other letter requires a copy of my passport. Anyone who has worked for a company since March 1998 must have a copy on file as part of government employment law. This is what i said previously, when people said this wasn't right. But this is what it states in black and white. Well tough, because my passport has expired, and guess what? You got it right. I have to go back to them and tell them i don't have a passport, and why. How embarassing. I've also have several £100's of work for them in a months time. Does this mean i can't work for them now? What will be, will be, as i can't afford the luxury of a passport. Its at the bottom of the list. Its just one thing on top of another.

Bh, the small amount of money i was expecting has been paid. It was only one days pay, so not enough to pay any bills, but enough to get me to work today at least. My account says drawn at the last statemenet. How come. Do i have to ask? This is serious. I can't remember if its strike number two or three. Whichever i'm in the bad books and close to losing my account.Thats inevitable in the next few days, anyway. Who cares. What does it matter. Bank accounts are for human beings, not phlebs like me. Bank accounts are for people who have wages to be paid into them. I know i should stop feeling sorry for myself, but its more cynicism with things i don't have the power to change.I'm still looking for another job. My age is never going to help. I realise i've got to take anything to earn money, just so the benefits agency can give me some pocket money, a pittance, to top it up. Pocket money, whats that? I should be so lucky. I spoke to someone else this week who mentioned mse, and an offer they got off here. It just makes you think. I wonder who would know me? To know how i'm struggling, financially and emotionally? Me, me, me. Pocket money. The kids on this street get more pocket money than i do to pay my bills. Whose fault is that? Mine. I'm fed up. I can't cope. I can't make money. In desperation i rang the charity again last night. They said they would send a cheque for my car insurance. I wasn't sure if they were doing, so i left it a few days. Yes the cheque was sent on monday. Its friday, now, isn't it? What does any of it matter?

This has to be short (for me) sorry.

Passport - generally if you search the small print there should be an alternative, driving licence or something. Proof of ID. It's discriminatory if they don't allow for people not to have passports but I don't know if that's just best practice or enshrined in law. Worth a look and a protest if they still require it.

Jobs - have you looked into relief work? Cleaning (your favourite), driving, care work? Other? Would fit around existing job.

Sometimes all one needs, is a hug.

The cheque didn't arrive today, it has seemingly disappeared. Nothing can be done about this until monday. The same of the passport situation. All i've been told is uder 1998 legislation, blah, blah, blah. For some reason, every company wants a copy of your passport on file.

Its been a difficult day today, but i've got to get my brain into gear, as the work i'm doing currently, secures the future work of many other people. It has to be spot on, and the everyone stands to lose out, including the company. Just as well they can't read my diary, of my double life, my ' other side '. Unachievable targets have to be met, as ever, but i don't care. I'm the first, and probaly one of the few people to turn round and say it is, what it is. You can only so your best and give 100%. If you have done that, what else can i say? Its looking to a huge change in the industry and this is the way forward. A combination. of past, present and future workings, without putting us all out of a job.


I was musing on the way home tonight. I've been out of the house for 12 hours again, today. 12 hours yesterday. Tomorrow isn't too bad. Out of 31 hours in 3 days spent ' working ', i'm only paid for 18 of those. Another of those situations when you could equate, i've earnt less then the minimum wage. But it doesn't work like that. Work is work, and its a days pay. 6 out of the 12 hours has been travelling to and from work, or effort i've put into work, which i'm not paid for. I suppose many people are like this. But how does THAT equate with wtc? 31 hours input and 18 hours pay. Most people would say don't do it, or i'm not doing it. Thats just the way it is.



I'm looking and looking miggy. In fact i DID seriously contemplate writing a book, this morning. Or my memoirs, if you like to call it. I'm not sure if you were all joking with me. I wouldn't know how to pubish it, and i'm sure no one would read it. However i DO know someone who wrote their life story and had the book published. I bought it, but never had the time to read it. I'm sure i've probably lost it in the move now. The trouble is, i'm a deep thinker, like aw, and i've always struggled with the way, or to contain the way i think because it seems to be totally alien to everyone else. Maybe i should be like everyone else. But i know thats not possible. My brain never switches off, it just changes gear.
