Life after bankruptcy?

Hi All
am around, but back to lurking again. I read on my phone when have time but cannot reply via phone, takes too much memory via mse site.
I remember Gorillas in the Mist - it was a huge story when it came out. I didn't realise she was murdered. Was that in rwanda? If it was, not surprised, sorry to say. if not, will have to google what happened.
just remembered was supposed to google something and can't remember what it was doh!
DH wants to do something like that, David Attenborough, anything to be away from humans and with nature.
Not that we will ever afford it.
Ani, hope you are ok.
I think I once sent you instructions about multiquoting? it will be on old laptop.
will try to send you something again soon.
Miggy - your way sounds very complicated to me!
had an exciting weekend. came home on fri to find we had unexpected visitors, several angry emails later..... fell out with DH on sat, very disappointed with a friend on sun, went to work today to find out we nearly all lost our jobs on friday and boss is trying to blame it on me....:rotfl: and my work colleague. Told her she was very lucky he turned up for work today after the way she treated him on friday. I said he could have texted her this morning to say stuff your job I am not coming back. she was shocked but too drunk to say anything. And she apologised to him.
serves her right for being a lush!
If we had lost our jobs, it was MD's fault not ours.
but hey ho, life goes on, hey......
I tell you what ani, I think you have the right attitude about having friends/not having friends. sometimes they are more hassle than they are worth, especially when they are selfish and only think about themselves.
anyway off to bed, back to grindstone tomorrow.0 -
Good to have you back, Aesop.
Sorry about work though, it sounds mega stressful. I just found the bit in my diary where work was getting to me last year - it's such a big part of life, shame people can't always be civilsed about it. All I can do is send you hugs and say tomorrow has to be better. :grouphug:

Good to hear from you Aesop x Have your in laws departed now?
It was in rwanda. So sad, and yes i completely empathise with your OH. Living with animals and not humans, is the way forward. I still don't understand, nor so i want to understand, how humans tick. It seems to me its all about popularity and self, or maybe forced popularity? Is this what life is all about? Enforced adulation? I suppose maybe the fact that a few names on an internet site care? enough to " speak " to me, after almost a year of existence, says that these people have some sort of connection with me, however tenous. Sorry, but you know i say it how it is, which doesn't mean to say i don't care about you. I could say, human beings are too much like hard work, but then people would be up in arms. But this comes at a price, if you can cope with loneliness, at times.
I've still got your destructions somewhere, thanks Aesop. Thanks for yours, too, miggy.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Aaargh. After two years i understand my bank account even less than i did when i opened it. I finally succumbed and rang them last night.
Yes it seems as though i've been overdrawn, ( a criminal offence ), several times, recently. In actual fact i haven't, but it will still appear as though i have. The only way i can keep tabs apparently is to physically take note after every transaction. Which means always having pen and paper to hand. Seems barmy in what is supposed to be a progressive soceity. They are making efforts to change their retro, ( or should i say !!!!!! ), banking system.
Strangely we " clicked " and spent probably an an hour chatting. They can't have been busy. I wonder how much the call cost? Fancy having to consider the cost of ONE phone call. Still. It was probably cheaper than calling the sams. Your friendly sharing caring bank. Actually, they have been very good. I can't fault them. During the course of the chatter, they said they are currently recruiting staff. Hmm not exactly my cup of tea. In fact, not my cup of tea at all. The only benefit is a wage paid into your account every 4 weeks. I'm an ex br? Not sure about that one, but the only way is to give them a call and find out.Yuk. The things you have to do. At least apparently they have a pension scheme. Aren't i too old to start contributing into one of these? Still. I will have to work for the rest of my life, if life continues.
Still having problems as ever, trying to make people pay me for work executed. Someone owes me from may, as ever. Its now august. I rang them over a week ago and they said i would be paid on 1st august. 1st august has now passed. I rang yesterday and they said there has been a delay, maybe tomorrow. How much more of a delay is reasonable. A work colleague offered to lend me some money yesterday. I don't think anyone truly realises when i say i have no money, no money IS no money, doen to 1 or 2p. literally. I wonder how many people know what its like to be in this situation. I wonder how many people would still be alive, coping with all this on their own? I suspect, very few. I declined any money simply because i know i would struggle to pay it back. Money is already spent before it hits my account. I don't want another debt, i've enough already. But its telling. Even though they say they are skint, they too, are not actually skint. They just don't have as much savings as they would like to have? Savings, what are those? Hang on a minute. I've still got my £1 in my savings account, and thats where it stays until i pass. Ring the company again today and see what has happened to my pay. Its not in my account this morning, ( well theres a surprise ). Not that its going to solve all my problems, anyway. I'm fed up of worrying about basic living, everyday. Yet another nsd.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Working in a bank? That's an interesting possibility. Certainly worth a phone call.
And not being paid for May's work is awful. I hope they get their act together post haste - really they should pay you interest but for some reason I don't think that will happen.
Have you been working today? I'm working for the next three days - well a day and two nights - so I'll be around from time to time.
Meanwhile - seeing as I've just had the kettle on - :coffee: a virtual cuppa for you.Miggy

Definitely an interesting possibilty for an ex bankrupt. Somehow i don't think it is going to happen :rotfl:
Another of life's disappointments. Despite the bank saying they would call me back tonight, they, of course, didn't. Why can you never rely on someone doing what they say they will do. Its simple enough, isn't it, to male a phone call. Oh, yes, i know i'm only one of many thousands of customers.
I rang about my pay again first thing this morning, two weeks after the first phone call. I could tell they'd had no intention of paying, i'd be sat around waiting indefinitely. My pay magiced itself into my account late afternoon. Its totally unacceptable, and you are right, the only person who will earn interest, is them.
I'm quite busy with work for a while now, miggy. Don't forget to bring me a stick of rock, ( or some sauerkraut )?Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

DH and whole family have problem with oCD, they believe in minimal things and everything should be cleaned, tidied away, etc.
he thinks he is helping by hanging up clothes that have been washed without ironing them first. Looked in DS' wardrobe this morning, clothes inside out, pjs in wardrobe that belong in drawer, stuff in drawer that belongs in wardrobe. things desperately needed an iron before being put in cupboard! he is a hindrance, not a help!0
