Thanks for the hugs, they are really needed today.

What started off as a bad day, has just got worse, if thats at all possible, but then this is Me, we are talking about.

I don't hold out much hope for the charity. It was explained they make donations to people in temporary situations, and mine now seems rather more permanent, and the only solution appears to be getting a full time job. Yep ok, i'll get one tomorrow. No probs...................

I arrived back ( i still don't call it home ), to find a letter saying the electricity has been underpaid by almost £1500. Yep, you did read this right. I've spent most of the afternoon on the phone a) to the electricity supplier, b) to car insurance companies. After several calls i found an understanding voice on the other end of the phone, who questions, as i do, the fact £2k's worth of leccy has been used in 9 months. It has been monitored for 6 hours, appliances used, no units used, and will be duly monitored over the weekend, with a report back on monday, otherwise they will charge £50 for someone to come and check the meter. Now thats how to make money. :(

I drew a blank on the classic car insurance, but i have been promoted / demoted, to performance car status. Most companies won't entertain your car as a classic car, if you are using it. Yep, thats right. It has to be over 20 years old, and its not quite made it yet, if its the sole car in the household. Well whats the point of having a car you don't drive? In other words, you could have a car which is 5 years old and it could be deemed a classic car, if its in a multi car household. This could make almost anything a classic car. Not quite how i would use the term classic, but heyho.

As a performance car, i've managed to get £100 off the price of my insurance, but this comes at a price. It has to be paid in one payment :rotfl: or three consecutive payments with a 12% charge. :rotfl: to that, too.

Its looking like i'll have to stay with my current insurers, although i've one more port of call, my bank, ( and they know i can't afford ANY insurance ). :rotfl:

All in all, i can't describe how i feel, right now.

think there is a forum on here about elec companies overcharging for dodgy meters!

I mean £1500 electricity! are you growing your own plants? as was found somewhere local to me. neighbour was suspicious, curtains drawn all the time, and no one came except at night.

turns out they had turned off meters and were gaining elect and gas directly from mains supply! elect people had come round as there was a huge £2K unpaid bill, and they had come to cut off electricity!

    Thanks Aesop xx

This is what i don't understand. Is there a guideline for a minimum annual salary?

Because if there is, i'm still way below £12k. Methinks i should call them on monday. Had enough of phone calls today, Had enough of everything, today.

I can't find it :( laptop about to shut down as overheating.

    might ask someone.

I don't think minimum annual salary but govt says what is the minimum someone needs to survive on, something that needs looking at badly.

hmmm, can you borrow an electricity monitor from anywhere. I had one, but would be hard pressed to find it at the moment, but this might explain where the extra figures are coming from. ie someone tapping into your meter and using your electricity.

someone suggested the libraries sometimes have these to lend out. long shot.

I've never heard of anything so ludicrous.

They estimate i'm using 44 units in the daytime and 3 units at nightime.

So far, not one unit has been used on either reading, today. I'm interested in what the reading will be tomorrow morning.
