I can't find it
laptop about to shut down as overheating.
might ask someone.
I don't think minimum annual salary but govt says what is the minimum someone needs to survive on, something that needs looking at badly.
hmmm, can you borrow an electricity monitor from anywhere. I had one, but would be hard pressed to find it at the moment, but this might explain where the extra figures are coming from. ie someone tapping into your meter and using your electricity.
someone suggested the libraries sometimes have these to lend out. long shot.
Thanks Aesop xx

Sssheeesh, it wouldn't be credible if it weren't real.
Yes, some libraries have those things to monitor electricity - I think they're called energy monitors or something. You could try appealing to reason (?!) with the electrickery people - I mean who has bills like that? Are you a nationalised industry or something? :undecided
And I knew you have green fingers, Ani but this is ridiculous. _pale_ Perhaps the sort of plants that generate the sort of income you could do with really do take that much in lights. Not that I'd know.
If you disappear we'll blame the lappy, hope you coax it back soon.Miggy

And I guess they can't take what you haven't got, can they?
Oh yes they can. They can take it back in instalments, the dd has already been amended.
Fortunately, eventually someone with a brain realised the stupidity of the figures they had in front of them. I mean, £2k in 9 months? :rotfl: I hope they see this through and sort it out. I'm amazed at the the other cs people who just say you owe us this, end of. How much money do they make out of people who give up trying to cut red tape?
They will try and take what you haven't got, somehow. I've no faith in that theory.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

The minimum the goverment says a single person gets to live on through income support is something like £60 pw.
They would get a rent rebate and help with most of their council tax.
How much are tax credit's going to pay you then?I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. I've never heard of anything so ludicrous.
They estimate i'm using 44 units in the daytime and 3 units at nightime.
So far, not one unit has been used on either reading, today. I'm interested in what the reading will be tomorrow morning.
where are they getting their estimates from? Usually estimates are based on previous usage. Are they saying the person before you used an extraordinary amount of energy?

Not alot beanie, not alot.
call them again on monday. whoever inputted information may have done it wrong. They did with me and I ended up with a whacking overpayment! and I asked for the call and information that had been inputted on screen, etc, and you could clearly hear me spelling out amount, they typed it in wrong and pressed the accept button :eek:0 -

I asked them precisely this. Apparently the previous occupant only lived here a year, ish, so they were estimates, too.
Maybe somewhere down the line, someone's granny had green fingers
