Fingers crossed for the job in the chippie Ani - at least it would be something regular for you. On the subject of fish n chips, I do like a nice bit of haddock, although can find that plus chips all a bit greasy, I'm also partial to a nice fish cake (yep, the unidentifiiable scrapings all moulded into a disc with bright orange breadcrumbs - Jamie O would come running but since it's not my staple diet I really care :p) Perhaps you'll get some free chips[STRIKE] if [/STRIKE]when you get the job - you'll prob go off the things after having to serve them up, but it would mean something to eat x

I really hope that some things take a turn for the better for you, somehow and however unexpectadly - you deserve so much better than this x

Keeping fingers crossed about the job - not career choice but still ajob that will help temporary. Ani, it is very scary statistics about the pensions. However, pensions are still a relatively good deal and it is an old rule - revolutions are started not by poor people, but by people who become poorer.

The way I see it, at the moment we are all getting shafted - some more than others. And it is time for people in the country to stand together and make it heard that we refuse to be shafted any longer. Interestingly, this government is doing a classic trick (in fact a string of those). Start with a a group where revolution is not likely - single mothers. Than move to people on benefits - but encourage the media to get into the whole 'benefits cheats' frenzy so you creat a spirit of objectionability. Then you move and hit the public services - present it as a matter of efficiency and choice. But the main thing - set every one gainst each other. Create a 'bully chain' - every one bullies the ones they consider below them.

Anyway, getting carried away; I am not going to call for a global revolution tempting as this may be.

    Look after self.

Thanks for the well wishes, all. I have'nt received a phone call, yet. Well theres a surprise :rotfl: Can't say i did'nt try, though :D

But i did think, even if its only one day a week, its better than nothing, whilst i sit out the storm.

I've made my appointment for my steroid injection, and friday morning was the only appointment i could get, as there is only one gp at the practice, trained to adminster it. Yukky, yukky. Not the most pleasant of experiences. I'll have to close my eyes and think of england. I hate needles, especially ones full of steroids.Still, if it takes away the pain. I might as well take the opportunity whilst i'm not working. Would anyone volunteer to go in my place?

I like the idea of New Zealand. Mentioned to DH about moving there, big fat no. :(

so, I shall reply and say we want to go to New Zealand, hurry up and transfer the money!

as for the job, did they say they would call tonight? maybe busy and you will get a call tomorrow.

I worked from home last week and today had to put in my timesheet to get paid next week. So I claimed my usual 3 days. My Manager asked if I wanted to claim a better rate for having to work from home, using internet, etc. I said no, it's ok. I have been paid that is enough for me, at least I can pay my bills next week. She said are you sure ?I said no, leave it. I know what the answer will be, no extra money but I will pay for her calls, well I used free minutes on my mobile. internet? how do I quantify it? It's ok, I know how much I will receive next week, will try to budget on it, that will do.

yeah, I'll have your injection. I need to learn to use an epi-pen so better get used to big needles!

    Thanks fw

I don't see it as people necessarily being shafted, nor the need for a revolution. Unfortunately, i think its indicative of the changing times, the econmic climate, and the drain on the governments resources, from all areas. There are lots of factors to take into consideration.

An obvious solution, is for each individual to be responsible for their own pension needs, and this is where revolution is leading,( or the government ) in my opinion. The unfortunate truth is, for some people, this just won't be possible.

You could analyse it by saying i've always paid, and still are paying taxes, therefore i'm contributing into the pension funds of the public sector. Yet i cannot afford to pay into my own pension fund? Not that i'm complaining, per se, but, wheres the logic or fairness, in that? Should'nt your own pension, be your own responsibility?
