Life after bankruptcy?

Money makes the world go round, the world go round, the world go round.
Well , it does , if you have it. The realisation has kicked in, today, that my work diary is now empty for the first time ever, bar one days work. Well thats not going to keep me alive, is it? Thats not going to keep a roof above my head. A break in employment means even longer between pay runs. Not so long ago, i would have been booked everyday until xmas. It must be good to know you have a big fat salary of £30k, £50k, £100k?, even £10k, would be reassuring. In fact, even hb and wtc, would be reassuring. At least it guarantees a roof over your head? Acknowledgment of your needs as a human being? No wonder people end up living on the street. Educated people, too.
Its the first time i've had time to sit down and contemplate my lack of work. Oh yes. Jobs are 10 a penny, are'nt they. I'll go and get a job, then. Well, maybe they were in the ' olden ' days. Straight from one job, to another. News is on. Ah, teachers can afford the luxury of striking. Lucky old them, then. Poor things will have to work longer for their pensions. Everyone is having to work longer, for their pensions, as life expectancy rises. Unfortunate, but true. At least they get to retire.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

I don't always follow the news.
So. The whole of the public sector is on strike on thursday. Strength in numbers? Does this mean D Cameron Is on strike on thursday too? Presumably not. Why should the public sector be exempt. Or are they protesting for the rest of us too?
Maybe if you are relativlely young, this is of no consequence to you, but maybe if you are approaching what you've always thought of as retirement age, and the goalposts are seriously shifted, this is frustrating to say the least.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Not the best of days, today. I'm so tired, in this heat. Just finished some all important getting up to date with paperwork and throwing out unwanted papers at the same time. All up to date again, now, and ready to go. When? Filled in my form for wtc. It was simple, ( now i have all my earnings related documents filed in one place). Why have'nt i done this before? Because you can't when you are working long hours. For what? £600 a month. I was'nt so far off in my estimation. I've backdated it, as far as i dare, on trying to remember when it arrived through my letterbox. Something has to give. I can't keep this up. I'm away to post my ' mail ' , then i'm going to bed for the rest of the day. I just want to crawl in and sleep forever. The reality is, its only work, thats keeps me going, huh?
Whilst i was clearing out, i found a copy of a saying, i rather like - Love many, trust a few, always paddle your own canoe. What is it maty said about water running uphill?Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

You're off to bed, I'm off to work for five hours.
Glad you got the wtc form sorted. It must be a struggle to keep track of jobs for multiple employers, I have enough difficulty when my employer does the paperwork for me. Anyway here's hoping they process it SOON!
No work in the diary is very tough. What can I say? How wide and crazy are your options? Well, you know better than anyone what you might be able to do - if there are jobs at all. Even seasonal work: how's the strawberry picking in your area?
Oh dear, I shold be ready to go by now and I'm not. Will call back later, take care.Miggy

Hi Ani - I'm just dropping in to say i haven't desserted you. Sorry to hear about the job situation atm, as miggy says, you know better than anyone what your possible options are. Well done for getting the WTC form sorted, at least that's one thing from the list ticked off.
I'm sorry i can't offer you a job and can only offer a virtual hug - but hopefully it's the thought that counts :grouphug:
btw, you put me right in the mood for a bacon buttie with your previous posts - I think the idea of sitting eating one enjoying the fresh sea air is glorious. Why is it food, esp food like that, tastes so much better eaten outdoors. My fav it hot chips with ketchup and salt eaten by the sea or somewhere where I've been outdoors for ages and really need a bite. Then they taste amazing.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I think Ani has looked at every possible job situation in their area, and that means from strawberry picking to shelf stacking, but if it is anything like my area..... there is nothing out there. Or if there is, you get hundreds applying for 20 jobs.
They opened a new Wilkinsons in my area last year, it was in ALL the local papers and websites, the amount of people who applied for 60 jobs at the store..... they were queuing right around the block. More than 200 people applied for 60 jobs.
Kinda tells you what the job situation is like out there.0 -
Calling back later as promised, but without a lot helpful to add.
I did my extra five hours at work and it was okay - maybe my attitude has improved. It's cooled down considerablyup here - how about elsewhere? Oh, and someone told me not to let it get dark - not sure what to do about that one! Catch up with you tomorrow.
