What a day. One of those days? All days are increasingly getting like this? Well not quite as bad as today. I'm now in the unenviable state of working for nothing. Zilch pay. How? Someone else's mistake. Gone on holiday and forgotten to tell me one minor, major factor. So now the last three days work can't be used, and therefore won't be paid for. Over my dead body. This time i simply can't afford to work for nothing. A blooming 12 hour shift yesterday, too. I'm not going to let this one drop. Its my word against their's, but at least i can prove no phone calls were made. Where is miggy? Anyone know about small claims courts? They want me to redo the work, and i agreed because i need the work/ money. But on reflection, why should i pay for someone else's mistake? This is when you realise you have no backing. But i'll wait and see what the outcome is tomorrow, before making any decision, and if they won't pay me, they can find some other mug to redo the work.

Coupled with the fact the job i was working on today, was cancelled, as we working on it, literally. Sent home whilst working. Thats bad, really bad. I've never known that before. Of course, i'll never find out why. But thats a weeks work down the tubes, and very little work on the horizon. My colleagues were more more peturbed than me, ' i'm on my own, i've got to pay the mortgage ' Yeah well, i know what its like to be there. Got the same problem with rent, myself. ' Got to get another job ' Well, we all know that, but its easier said. ' Putting in more hours than paid for'. Got that t shirt too. Maybe its getting to crunch point. With work slowing right down, now will soon be the time i've got to start putting my own house in order, literally. They are in even less control of their finances, than i am. Paying 40% tax? I'm not too hot on the tax front, but i can just about sort out my own. Told them about wtc, they've never even heard of it. Maybe i'm more clued up then i think, and thats saying some. Now i've got to start putting all these theories into practise. Unfortunately its getting to that time of the month when the supply of money is getting dry, and its going to be back to my £2 pot, within the week. I've got around £50 to last until when? If only i knew, and whats due to come in may have to last some time. Never managed to pay my ni, but at least the bills were paid, and the gas bill has finally been settled, My passport has expired now. As soon as the next pay comes in, thats me off to the social. Depending on the help i get from them, its going to be crunch time in my decision to relinquish the little i have remaining, namely ani. I'm not s* or d* today. I'm just pished off, realising i'm stuck in a rut of this never ending cycle, and incredulous someone has made a mistake thats cost me hundreds of pounds. If i could get my rent paid, then i could probably manage? and would'nt constantly be worrying about the roof over my head.

Got a phone call from * yesterday, but could'nt take it. Rang them back today, but no reply. I was hoping they had forgotten using me as a case history. God, i got myself into such a pickle, everyone has wanted to use my case history for something. I don't want to relive it in real life, because i suppose i'm dealing with it. I'm tempted to tell them about my diary. I'm sure they can use enough information from reading this. But then thats an open admission to someone in the real world, who knows who i am, but then also a confirmation of things they already know, to some extent. I think i'll go for the easy option and let them read my diary, but first off, i want to know what they are going to do with it.

    What a gay day

    Flabbergasted.

Could you say you will redo the work if they pay you in advance for both that and the work you've already done? Make the point that you did it in good faith, the fault is theirs AND it's prevented you from being available to take work elsewhere. (Whether or not you were actually offered other work, I think this still applies as you would otherwise have been open to offers/looking for work).

Is there a thread on here for employment law?

Will keep thinking about it and see if I can come up with anything else.

Do you have any form of contract with them? Written? Verbal?

I think you should get yourself down to CAB for this one.

    no, not seen that.

I've been told by my DH that I am mysterious, that is why I like these dogs.
