You just write out a long post and then manage to delete it, goodness knows how.
It went along the lines of, i'm still reading your post miggy, and everytime i do, i take something else from it. Yes, my circumstances have pushed me to extremes, abd i've said all along, maybe people find my diary too contoversial, as i speak about the unspeakable, which unfortunately can, sometimes be negative. I'm sure you would get on with me in real life. But theres a limit to how far i'll allow people into my world, in real life. Not because i'm a horrible person, but maybe i've been hurt once too often. Of course the only person that this is detrimental to, is me. I'm not stupid. You have to allow people into your life, but this is'nt as straightforward, as saying it.
Aesop, theres a programme on tv tomorrow evening. The truth about your dentist, dispatches, on channel 4 at 8.00pm.i think. It looks quite interesting, re nhs charges etc.
Shame i lost the post. I have an early start again tomorrow, so bed beckons already. I'll think of you in the early hours. miggy, and i hope you get some sleep, Aesop. Hugs xxDebt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Very tired tonight, its been a long day, and in some ways emotional, as i've seen my home at least 12 times today. Everytime i go past, i'm still drawn to looking, as much as i know i should'nt. Looks like somethings happening in the garden,. Whatever it is, its an eyesore, but too far away to see exactly whats going on, or even if theres signs of life there. I'm not upset. it just leaves you feeling reflective and sad. A distinct difference. I miss the scenery though, which i knew i'd taken for granted, and all the walking i was doing. Must have started getting fitter at that stage, without realising it.
Did you watch the programme Aesop. I'm still watching. Its all about root canals. What a ripoff. I worry my dentists bill will cost £50, yet i've known people who spend a fortune on their teeth, all in the name of vanity. Maybe i've been fortunate i've never had to spend that degree of money on my teeth. Maybe they're not so bad, after all.
I don't understand how you can be charged private prices at an nhs dentist.Well, breach of contract in some cases ? In my area, it was one or the other. You either paid your premiums to belong to a private practice, or you went to a nhs dentist. I was extremely fortunate to get on their lists. I heard the practice was opening a year or so before it did, and put my name down at that point. I think the list was full almost straight away, certainly a year before it opened, i believe. I think its all baloney, and greed on the part of certain dentists. Don't they earn enough, for goodness sake? Theres never been any mention of the nhs budget running out at my dentist, but then its a nhs pratice? Not only that, they've just opened brand spanking new premises. Que?
I can understand why you have'nt been to the dentist Aesop. The mind boggles as to what you've been quoted. Oh here we go, i've just paid band 1, £17, for which i'm eternally grateful. They gave me a nhs receipt too, which i'd never had before. No, i'm not changing from my dentist. Its well worth the journey.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

That post had me thinking about dogs today, miggy. Its funny how some thoughts stick with you throughout the day. Maybe its been a reflective day. I know most people here think i'm a dorg anyway, but of course, i'm not a dorg at all. :rotfl:
But heres a thought for anyone to reveal their true selves.
If you were a dog, what breed would you be?
As i said, i woud be an old english, ( well theres a coincidence ) :rotfl:
Although i'm not fluffy and hairy, i'm like an oe in other respects :rotfl:
If i were a cat, i was going to say a siamese, but i've a penchant for cheetah's, the most amazing big cat, on the planet. Poetry in motion. Why waste words?

my dentist wants to charge me £280 for a root canal.
His reason. He does a certain amount of work on the NHS. Ie clean ups, fillings, etc. But as he only receives a certain pot of money from the NHS for NHS work, he tries to be fair and spread it around to everyone, so they can benefit from it.
But when it comes to work that is more detailed than just a filling, or a clean up, he needs to charge, to be able to keep the NHS for other people who need filling, teeth clean, etc.
My DH's dentist wanted to charge me £600+, he said the same as above but said it was the cost of xrays.... £350!0 -

Sounds like you have one of those dentists on the programme, last night. I think the crux of the matter depends whether you originally signed for nhs treatment or for private treatment. If you signed for private treatment, it would seem you can let your dentist walk all over you. If you signed for exclusively nhs treatment, like i did, phew. But how many of these dental practices exist? Why not just abolish the nhs, full stop? Of course, this will happen sometime in the future. Is'nt this one of the things that has always made this country the golden land?Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?
