Interesting article Aesop, but no one ever mentions or knows about my record. I've tried rare record shops, and they have'nt a clue what i'm talking about. Maybe i should go to the city council, one day. I'm sure i was musing over that before, in my diary. I'm still fairly sure its not worth anything. On the other hand, its at least as old as me, and if its an original copy, its 84 years old.

is it JR Hartley's? as in fly fishing

I don't know what happened there. My computer just shut down. Could'nt do anything on it.

I was going to edit and say this could be very good news for rare vinyl. Its on, the first two weeks of July. A good time to see if anyone wants to buy a record. Who knows, i might get a tenner?

I would'nt have thought about it, had you not posted the link, Aesop. I had no idea Victoria W**d, was doing a resurrection. I'd be interested in going, not that i'll ever have the money, of course. Entertainments, are off the list, as is everything else, at the moment. Friday can't come fast enough, for me.

Hope you both manage to stay awake in your meetings, this morning. Work has slackened, for me, which is slightly worrying, although it gives me some chance to do as you say, and recharge my batteries, and do some sorting of bits of paper. Does'nt pay my bills, though, unfortunately.

Have a good day, everyone xx

Well I guess there's no point having the money to pay the bills if you aren't around to run them up in the first place, IYSWIM. (There isn't an emoticon for the face I'm pulling, and I hope the wind doesn't change and make me stay looking like this or I'm in trouble)! On the other hand, as you rightly point out, no money = no food, no roof over your head, no way to get to work. Catch 22.

Let's not go there right now. :) Nothing either of us can do about it right this minute, and even if work slackens for a bit, having enough time to breathe, watch a bit of telly, go for a walk in the sunshine, shuffle papers - money can't buy us those. And you're not having to spend on petrol.

I did stay awake at the meeting, thanks, we had a nice bit of real (staff) blood to make it interesting! I bet not many people can say that. I still really, really hope I never have to test for a hypo, as I'm squeamish, but it was interesting.

Re: the Harry Potter stuff, the only reason I ever read them was that my son brought one home from school and I can't resist children's books. I don't know how I got hooked, as IMO the first chapter is neither strong nor typical of the work as a whole, and I don't go for magic or ghost stories or anythigng of that ilk. Nevertheless I got completely dragged in, to the point where I had to preplan when a new book came out to ensure my kids got fed, as once I had my head into the new story I might as well not be around. I've not watched all the films, though - not a films person, I have enough pictures in my head. :D

And... I'm ashamed to say I haven't read The Tenant of Wildfell Hall. :(

Ani, I'm hopeless at maths so I wouldn't be doing you a favour by offering to take some of your paperwork off your hands (though the results, if I did, would probably give the IR a laugh), but I hope you get today's five pieces of paper safely enveloped, or whatever you need to do with them. You are spurring me on to good deeds here as I really ought to tackle some of mum's paperwork and I keep putting it off. So far my mental list goes thus far: 'Item 1: make a list' and no further.

Actually I should plant some overdue seeds and maybe write a novel, I am sure the world will keep turning if the papers don't get done. On the other hand, someone here will turn an ankle on the papers soon if I don't do something with them. Anyone fancy a bonfire?

Well thats 365 evenings, taken care of.

Ah, but 365 evenings (and so you get one evening off for the year) at 5 mins an evening is better than coming back this date next year and saying you have a mountain of paperwork that you never have time to sort out.

One bit of paper while the kettle boils, one bit of paper while you wait for a reply to an MSE message, one bit of paper while you are waiting for someone to answer the phone, one bit of paper while you wait for a second kettle to boil, one bit of paper while the beans heat up in the microwave. You could up the productivity and get clever by dealing with one bit of paper while you clean your teeth. So, six bits of paper a night ... you could knock of 61 evenings in your year!

guess what miggy.... I fell asleep in today's meeting too! but quickly woke myself up again!

It was so boring, I did the foot shaking, shifting in my seat, etc, thought of you ani and miggy, doodled, anything to stay awake.. nothing doing, fell asleep.

So when I woke up I started making a to do list. It was great! Was getting so much listed and remembering things i needed to do....
now to find the time to do them!

I would'nt say i've got a day off today, so much as i don't have any work today. So this is the lean times starting to kick in again. I still have some work, but not to the extent, i've just been through. Nor did the ' big ' jobs materialise. I'm not surprised about that. Never believe anything until its happened. Such cynicism. I need to retreat into more private thoughts today. Another of those times when i think, just what is it all about? I suppose my day has been made slightly better by the fact two lots of money have gone into my account today, so i may go and do a spot of food shopping, maybe a tenner or so, and stock up on some basics again. I really fancy a ' proper ' cooked meal tonight. Might see how much chickens are these days.Last me a few days, a chicken, and then some. Why have i got a craving for meat and two veg? Its something i rarely eat.

Stupid ramblings. I don't know where to start with my day off. I don't want to do anything. Nothing at all, but i've so much needs doing. Domestic stuff. Yuk. Mind blowingly boring. The place is'nt too bad, but i should do something whilst i can. Bits of paper. Must definitely do something about those, today. I must collect, all my p*** so far, and sit down whilst i absorb the shock of what i did'nt think i'd earned last year. Its a month, now, and i have'nt received anymore. I've got to have some help off the state, now. I can't carry on like this. Theres no wonder i can't get out of debt, even though my debts are relatively small now, the fact is, i'm still in debt. Well, i still owe money to get my possessions back. I class that as debt. Maybe i shouuld just say goodbye to them, same as everything else.

Your body is obviously craving certain vitamins and protein, etc. That is why you are wanting meat and veg.

If you have a tesco or asda near you, you could try wombling some receipts. Wombling - picking up discarded/unwanted receipts. As they are doing price checks and 10% cheaper than our competitors.

With Tesco it means you may get the difference back, if they are more expensive than Tesco, and with Asda they promise to be cheaper than everyone else on at least 8 selected products, if not, they give you 10% of the difference back, plus the difference I think.

Anyhow if you womble receipts, all you have to do for Tesco is enter them into the pricechecker and wait for an email tomorrow to tell you whether or not you qualify. if you do, print off th receipt and spend it in Tesco.

If you want to do it, let me know, there are several threads on it at the moment.

Do nothing if that is the way you feel. We are all entitled to one of those days.

Do you have access to a printer? There are some money off coupons or free items coupons floating around. Link here

read the first few posts, and if you don't understand, ask me I will explain.

The first time I found it, I found it a bit hard to understand, finally got the hang of it ;)

and as for your possessions, don't you dare let them go. You keep trying to get them back.
