Miggy - i forgot to say, i have'nt worked out how to use the multi quote function. I've tried, unsuccessfully, so i just have to reply to everything seperately.
Aesop and Wordsmith. When i say my printer is new, its new, as in only been used a handful of times. I can't remember when i bought it, probably 5 or 6 years ago, and i've no idea where the receipt is now, and even the store would probably turn round and say, are you having a larf? So it still sits in the box. I should have thrown it out in the move, except at the back of my mind i thought maybe one day i'd find out how to use it. I used it a few times, then i had my computer repaired, and it would'nt work after that. I've a feeling it kept saying found new hardware, and would'nt install. I've a feeling there was an installation disc, that i've lost?
I'm so irritated today, i scratched my car. Nothing major, just superficial, but i'm irritated i was so careless. A moments lapse of concentration. I'm so tired, and this weather does'nt help. Its so close. Just had a thunderstorm, but it has'nt cleared the air.
On the plus side, my neighbours family was visiting, and just happened to be polishing their car, when i arrived back. So since they are a fan, car is looking almost back to new, now. Almost, but not quite. Just need some tc*t to finish the job. That was a stroke of luck. Followed by a beer, magicked from nowhere, a welcome surprise. Trouble is, drinking beer in the afternoon has sent me to sleep, for the remainder of the afternoon, and left me feeling dopey.Good while it lasted and went straight to my head, but now its bed soon. Invited me out tomorrow night too. Hmmm. I have'nt been out socially for such a time, i'm not sure i'm up to the challenge. Plus i won't be home from work until late evening, ( thats not an excuse ). Plus, ( and this is the biggest plus ), i've no money to go out socialising. How do you explain that one away. I don''t have enough money for a drink for myself, let alone to buy a round of drinks. Maybe others would find it hard to understand something they take for granted. How can you say you don't have enough money for a drink, when they don't know your circumstances. I think they must think i'm strange, becuase i never go out, except to work. They are off to badminton tonight. Hmmm still can't afford to join the badminton club or the tennis club, for that matter. Was'nt my target to start getting a life, this year. Seems further away than ever.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

As for the printer, these days the installation cds can be found online, so need for the disk.
Hook it up again to your PC, wait for the PC to find new hardware, go to google, type in the model and make of your printer, ie epson 450r installation software and it will find the installation software for your printer.
then follow the instructions for downloading.0 -
can't help with the socialising but can say when DH is short of money, he tells his friends that he is "staying on his own" on rounds, he will buy his own, then he doesn't have to pay £30 for a round.
and as for me... I never go out anymore, so no problems with that. I go to day groups, etc with DS, that is my socialising...lol.
I tell a lie I am going out hopefully this month, on an organised mums night out that I am organising, but doing as frugally as possible.0 -
I very go out socially in the evenings as I cant afford it.

Thanks for that info xx I'm slightly confused, but my brain is on a go slow.
How thick am i? I did'nt know it was possible to do that, re printer. I've got some time off, so far next week, so i'll see if i can get it set up. It would be very useful to get some vouchers, to say the least.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

dentist wouldn't do root canal as I couldn't speak. And the payment plan he agreed to last year, seems he wants to talk about it....
so am going to call Nhs Dental hospital and ask them how much they will charge, when voice better, and go through them. DH was going to pay for dentist as long as I could do it over 3 instalments.
just fed up with the dentist now, this is why I don't go. he is nice enough but not helping me at all.
as for the printer, an IT guy told me, I never knew either.
the multiquote thing, I will try to show you an example to make it easier.0 -
Thanks Aesop.
Do you have a dental teaching hospital near you? I found one reasonably close here. You get free treatment, especially if you're in agony, i believe. Here, you have to queue up early in the mornig and take a ticket. Ufortunately you have to more or less be first in the queue, as they only see maybe a dozen people. But it can save you a fortune, i believe. Have'nt tried it yet. Toothache has subsided for now, but might have to go in the future.
Edit - if you've got a dental hospital, see if they have a clinic one morning a week, where you can go along. Its worth checking out?Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

I am feeling more than usually brainless tonight after an office-type morning (haven't done that in years) and a refresher course this afternoon which was interesting but hot & stuffy... so maybe this is why I entirely fail to see why Ani shouldn't post in his/her own diary every morning? Pardon me, I was unaware diaries were only to be used after lunch and certainly not daily.
If they don't like it, they can ignore you. Simples. All happy.
And Ani, you aren't thick for not knowing that about printers - why should you if you've not needed the information before? You've had other stuff to be doing.
Aesop - I was in at the very very beginning of Organised Mums if it's the same one I'm thinking of! Not in any huge way but I was on a thread with Sarah and gave her a bit of feedback and we chatted to and fro a bit... I haven't kept in touch but every now and then I see her products in the shops and think of her! She lives near where I used to live, too, though I haven't met her. Ah me. Miggy has her reminiscing hat on, the rest of you had better creep quietly away while you have the chance.Miggy
