Laptop not loading up properly

    You can check that it's activated by pressing and holding the Flying Windows key and then pressing Pause Break.

    It should be registered and the long number underneath should show OEM in between.
  • At the mo its on XP Desktop but its all big atc like in safe mode !

  • Sounds like Res needs changing...start...control...display...move slide bar.

    Sounds like your sorted...clean install will help with a number of issues,just make sure you load anti virus on and then check/update all drivers.

    Once you have installed your antivirus solution and then the Ethernet Driver, you can plug the Ethernet cable in to obtain Internet access.

    Once you have done that you can go to the DELL Driver page and click on 'Driver Install Instructions'. Keep that page open. On the main page, make sure Windows XP is selected and then we will go through the drivers, downloading and installing them one by one; using the Driver Install Instructions as a guide.
  • Ok Donnie will sort the antivirus and Ethernet driver now and leave it at that for now

    will do the Dell drivers tomorrow probably as i assume it will take a while

  • Donnie having a problem getting the Driver working saying where do you want to unzip the files to

    saying there is no file called that do i want to create a folder , im saying yes so creating a file C:\dell\drivers\R149798

    when i say ok , it gives me a message " This self-extracting zip file is part of a multidisk zip file. Please insert the last disk of the set.

    Any ideas what to do now ?
