I know they tell you not to stand on the scales every day but that is working for me at the moment. If I've lost weight from the day before it gives me a good start to the day, if I've stayed the same it inspires me to eat well that day, and if I've put any on I know I have to be extra good!
I've lost 6lb in the last two weeks doing that.I know it won't always be a loss as good as that but it seems to work for me at the moment.
This is exactly what I'm doing. I've lost about 10lbs so far.:j0 -
The last time I lost a lot of weight (approx 3 stone) I weighed myself each day - a week is a long time to find out that you haven't lost anything!! That way I could correct what I was doing wrong. I will also bit the bullet and do weight loss in sig! Starting Monday!Ciggie free 2am 21/09/06. Debt free 25/06/09.'It was such a lovely day I thought 'it's a pity to get up'' W. Somerset Maugham.0

I am full of good ideas, and start every day with renewed motivation but fall at the first hurdle by about 11 am !!! Get very grumpy if I don't eat and don't sleep if I am hungry. Have three children who are lovely but drive me to a glass of red wine every night. I reckon I have been dieting since 1995 and have lost about 5LB! Have about a stone to lose. Need to speed up! Am up for challenge0

My GF Started doing Slimming World, got disheartened with it and joined WW. She did very well, she has lost 128lbs She was a size 32 she is now a size 16. She no longer really goes to the WW meetings but she has changed her eating habits a lot. She used to literaly drink 4 litres of full fat coke and a kebab or take away every single night.
Now its all changed, but we still have fun. She has done so well, but still has 2 stone to go !This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

well i hate to sound full of myself, but my weight loss has been fantastic. i've gone from 13 and a half stone to 10st 10. i did this purely by going to the gym. i never had a really bad diet, even while at uni i mostly did the cooking from scratch thing, i've never been a fan of convenience foods.
recently i hit a slump and then lost four pounds in two weeks trying a wheat free diet, that went well but i fell off the wagon and put it back on. my own fault i know. two days ago i started taking fat burners that one of the guys who uses my gym gave me (so naive i don't even know what it is, but he's a medical professional) so i shall see how i get on. he informed me today i look like i've lost weight already, tomorrow is my 'weigh in day' so i'll let you all know.
i've never even contemplated joingin a weight loss club, for one i'm too tight and for another thats not me...iyswim. but i'd be well up for the stone by xmas challenge, if i did that i'd be in my target area, about 9 and a half. though i'll boost my date forward to the start of december, i've a family party on the 3rd and if i walked in there looking the dogs dangly bits i'd be so bloody chuffed with me.
ps if anyone wants any exercise advice i work in a gym and will do my best to answer/get answers for ya. granted i'm merely a receptionist, but i'm learning a ton and thinking now of a side swerve in my career!
edit; random thought, what about starting another thread for the club, we can choose a day of the week to post up our weights and monitor our loss, since so many are saying a stone for xmas what about starting it on the first of october? we can post our aims etc and any good tips we get.0 -
Over the years I'm sure I've lost the equivalent of two people but then put them back on again.:o
I suppose I won't starve if food is in short supply although my OH might start sizing me up for the freezer.:D0 -
Started doing Weight Watchers and liked the Points Plan but the meetings really didn't inspire me. I left and now pay my cash to the gym.
I used to eat only ready meals but now cook everything from scratch and I have lost a stone in 2 months with out trying. It's not a big amount but I don't have much to loose just 1 1/2 st from stopping smoking.
I fill up now on fruit and tasty veg soup. I still have my treats and love Skinny Cow Ice cream !
Good Luckxxxdxxx

I am so full of admiration for people who have lost so much weight, you must be so proud!Ciggie free 2am 21/09/06. Debt free 25/06/09.'It was such a lovely day I thought 'it's a pity to get up'' W. Somerset Maugham.0 -
I could do with doing some serious toning up - I am a size 10 on top, but 12/14 on the bottom... I cycle about 11 miles a day and eat healthily. I lost half and inch off each thigh in the last 6 months but I seem to be slowing down on my progress.
Some fab tips hereI'd like to join and lose some inches before Christmas, especiall as I'm getting measured for my bridesmaid's dress then!
